No, be honest with yourself. Burn away the lies. Jean was petty petty petty about Maddie. X-Factor 1-69 was one protracted hissy fit.

That may be, though as always she tried to help her in the end. But Emma did the same thing to Jean even after Jean saved her ungrateful ass. I have to stop the fire is burning to hotly and I might do something I regret.

Well the difference being that Maddie only did what Jean would have done in her shoes (which is to turn her parents into demons, sleep with her brother-in-law and try to kill her own baby).

Whedon, Brubaker and Fraction were the main culprits. It was a rehashed plotline. Must have enjoyed X-Factor so much. Jean was downright cold to Pryor though. Emma is catty, but Maddie was in a coma and got attacked by the Marauders.

I lay most of the blame on Whedon. Brubaker didn't really do anything and everyone was a bitch in Fraction's run which at least made it entertaining.

Jean was out of line in X-Factor. I mean, there were a lot of things upon my re-reading that I noticed that were just wrong. Remember what Candy Southern said about her. Her super power is to ruin relationships.

Storm is lucky Jean is a relationship ruiner. If Jean was alive you can bet Storm wouldn't be in her current situation/

The only time Scott has been interesting is when he's with Emma. Everything else (beyond Uncanny X-Men 137) has just been ambivalent whining.

Jean in X-Men Forever was heading down that glorious path before that title was senselessly cancelled. She almost had ever man on that team

Because of Fongi that is even clearer. If you have had several redheads connected to Phoenix and Hope is just the last of the series, Jean becomes irrelevant, she can chill in the white hot room. That said, I do not trust much the interviews. They spent the last five years telling us that Hope was absolutely not Jean, only to say in that other interview that yes, in the first draft of Messiah Complex Hope was Jean reincarnated, hence the locket scene.

I'd like to see some scans of Jean talking shit about Maddie during X-Factor, because I can't remember it (that said, the book was usually so boring that I probably deleted entire issues from my mind).
