This is all starting to fit perfectly into place. Chi is life energy right?

    Edit...never mind.

I'll probably end up hating the Phoenix as much as Brian M. did by the end of this.
It's Marvel's funeral. They've gone too far this time. It's time we bury them and these so called 'unfans'

Or death energy? Maybe the Iron Fists are the universes natural antibodies to the Phoenix force?

I'm not sure if I should answer or wait for Chase-Stein, but here's what wikipedia says.

"In traditional Chinese culture, qì (also chi or ch'i) is an active principle forming part of any living thing.[1][2][3] Qi is frequently translated as life energy, lifeforce, or energy flow. Qi is the central underlying principle in traditional Chinese medicine and martial arts. The literal translation of "qi" is breath, air, or gas.
Concepts similar to qi can be found in many cultures, for example, Prana in Vedantic philosophy, mana in Hawaiian culture, Lüng in Tibetan Buddhism, and Vital energy in Western philosophy. Some elements of qi can be understood in the term energy when used by writers and practitioners of various esoteric forms of spirituality and alternative medicine. Elements of the qi concept can also be found in popular culture, for example The Force in Star Wars.[4] Notions in the west of energeia, élan vital, or vitalism are purported to be similar.[5]"

Steel Phoenix kicks Luke Cage in his steel ballz during one of the early preludes to AvX.

That's good enough me. It's already been established that psionic energy = life energy in the X-books. So it all fits. The Phoenix Force is starting to make a lot more sense. I am glad they went this route now.

    Onomastic predestination? What's onomastic predestination?
Sorry Brevoort, Alonso and Lowe, but Jean Grey is a classic character. She'll outlive you regardless. :)

How many mattresses did Jean and Scott attack during X-Factor? Unbelievable.

90s Jean held Scott's optic blast back in X-Cutioner's Song.
