Now this is more like it. I enjoyed the last two issues, but now it seems the book really is going in the right direction. The focus on the characters is very nice and it's great that Milligan isn't ignoring this team's original mission (protecting Earth from outside threats) like Jenkins did. Hopefully we'll see Projectionist soon, she was the best character introduced by Cornell.
Top 3: Batman, Wonder Woman, X-force
This to me was the best issue yet. I love seeing the interaction with Milligan's other team, the Red Lanterns. What a great threesome it was with Apollo, Midnighter, and Skallox! A battle royal for sure. I'm looking forward to more Red Lanterns, especially Rankorr, Atrocitus, Bleez, and that weirdo Zox.
Midnighter is vicious. Shocking to see him cut of Skallox's arm!
Vitruvian is very intriguing. Can't wait to see more of him.
Great art. Supulveda is getting better and better.
I've loved this book from the beginning, but now it's on another level.
I seriously miss Captain Mar-Vell.
Now we're talking. Milligan is a perfect fit here. Lot of ground covered in just twenty pages. Excited for future issues.
Hmm, i didnt really care for it tbh :/
Just found the dialogue a bit wooden and unnatural and the story itself just seemed a bit basic next to gravity thieves and living moons.
Ive really liked the title so far so ill give it another 2-3 issues to grow on me but i dropped Miligans JLD after a few issues so im hoping it wont be a repeat...
Yeah, give it a chance though. I think one of the appeals of a title like this is the unpredictability? I mean one day they're fighting a mega moon or whatever, the next... ? The sky isn't even the limit.
I think Milligan was just getting his footing, and consider he has a subplot or two brewing already? Stick with it, it'll get deeper and more mind bending soon enough, trust moi ;)
But then I remembered how I haven't enjoyed any of Milligan's writing since the early days of his X-Force, and promptly put it back on the shelf.
Good issue. Like many previous posters I liked Midnighter's characterization here. Actually questioning how much his teammates will tolerate his bloodlust. But cripes, that freakin costume! I dont think a character's costume has ever lessened my enjoyment of a book this much.
not a huge Milligan fan... i didn't like JLD at all, but this was ok.
then again i liked both Cornell and Jenkins just fine as well. i guess i just like Stormwatch, it's premise and characters.
We can just pray that when this encounter eventually happens, is at the hands of a very, very good writer, to at least make Midnighter´s defeat and/or tie believable.
I was kind of mixed about this issue. Liked the whole Stormwatch element namely the Vitruvian Man thing and the mystery regarding the Shadow Lords. But didn't like the Red Lantern part. Not because I don't like Red Lanterns but felt it was a pointless addition. Skallox shouldn't have been so easily disarmed but thats just my view.
I am Apocalypse! Look upon the future and tremble!
I am as far beyond Mutants as they are beyond you. I am eternal.
Evil? I am not malevolent, I simply am!
