I have enjoyed the book, but I think that I expected a lot more out of Cornell than I saw. There was perhaps too much a rush on the plot and the characterizations could have been better. I think that Jenkins had a bit too much techno-babble but I thought that J'Onn was decisive and I thought the characterization improved.

So, I am looking forward to Milligan. I want good stories, action, but characters that I can care about in the book.

Yeah cause Superman has never faced very strong aliens( Mongul, Lobo, Darkseid, etc). Some of the aliens don't even need rings but they do give a power boost (Sodam Yat, Superboy Prime, etc)

That Red Lantern was totally going off ring power. And seeing how easily Supes was handling Hal Jordan, Johns chosen Green LAntern the supposed greatest Lantern ever. I think Supes could handle this. Red Lantern dude no sweat. This dude seems nowhere near Darkseid level, nor Mongul level. As for Lobo he seems like he has gotten a power reduction if he is fighting with Deathstroke

Historically Hal has a perfect stalemate record against Superman.

    Default Stormwatch # 9 SPOILERS

Great issue. Midnighter has the spotlight here and we see how badass he is. Very nice start by Milligan.

Skallox is no match for Midnighter. Midnighter chopped off Skallox's arm. Then he broke the neck of a metahuman Stormwatch has been hunting for 500 years.

I almost screamed like a little girl when i saw the last page.. You probably will when you see it too

not in the DCnU he doesn't. Superman owns him, Flash and Batman at the same time

Midnighter alone could take out everyone in the JL except maybe Superman and Wonder Woman.

    I think Red Lanterns #9.

So, how was this issue? Did Skallox play a big role? Would this issue be easy enough for a new person to pick up? I'm asking because I'd like o read it for it's connection to Red Lanterns.
Day and Date: Green Lantern/Green Lantern: New Guardians/ Red Lanterns

Wait a Month: Green Lantern Corps

I didn't have much issue with it. I don't know anything about the characters of Jack Hawksmoore, Engineer, or Julie, and the issue didn't exactly explain who they were. But I got an idea of their powers, at least enough of one that I wasn't baffled by their appearance.

If I had a complaint it'd be that after reading the issue I have no idea what to expect from Milligan on this book. If it ends up being more stories like this one I'd be pretty happy.

Quick question: I'm not really following Red Lanterns closely, but has the one that showed up here been an important character or just one of the cannon fodder so to speak?

Were they pushing it just because they are desperate to get a non Batman/Green Lantern/Superman/Justice League book to break out and expand their universe in a way people were interested in?

I absolutely loved it! The fight with Skallox was awesome. I'm fairly certain Apollo was only 'bested' because he was attempting to reason with Skallox, and puke-acid isn't exactly the most predictable of attacks. Also really happy to see Apollo and Midnighter's relationship develop.
Best part of the issue was the red ring's behavior aboard the ship. So well written!
