Default Earth 2 Wonder Woman Question

Does anyone know which version of Wonder Woman will be appearing in the new Earth 2? I want to know before I purchase the issue.

    Thank you!

They just say she's Wonder Woman, they haven't specify yet (?) if she's Donna or AU Diana, but it's probably the later.
She's the last surviving amazon and she's trying to preserve their traditions. She wears gold.

I may have to wait to be spoiled then before I purchase unfortunately. Donna or Pre52 Diana and I would buy multiple copies. If its Post52 Diana and I've already spent my money on it?...Well you can pretty much guess what I'm going to do with it. :-)

I'd prefer she be Donna actually. I don't care for the exact copies. Diana could be or had been the queen of the Amazons. That's what is good about parallel worlds. Not that the same person does the same thing but that the same person does something different on each. There was a reason for it in the past since it was used to explain away why they haven't aged, the beginning of the Superman titles was the Earth Two version and the latter was the current day one. Now, that need doesn't exist. Of course it seems they will be following the copy idea with Superman at least. Though I think it would be more interesting had Power Girl not been his cousin but a fellow Kryptonian. And Lois wasn't a factor because those two were together explaining why she's so determined to get back

Robinson kind of confirmed he doesn't know anything about Donna's status. He probably would have said otherwise if his WW was Donna. Though I do think Donna would work well in this position.

I thought they had said that Earth-2 WW was Diana... Did I just make that up in my head?

I think its Diana. Can't remember if its completely confirmed but I think the big three are all who we assumed them to be. I would just have preferred had they be a bit different in this regard as well bring a character out of retirement who so far has no place to exist.

I believe the big three are supposedly who they use to be . . . but different.

I'm wondering just how much of a role she'll have; isn't the focus of E2 on Alan-GL, Jay-Flash and Wildcat? I think I read that somewhere.

Those three use to be the main Golden Age heroes still involved with the JSA.

But I thought it was Alan, Jay, and Al Pratt (Golden Age Atom) that Robinson originally was talking about; not sure if Wildcat has really been mentioned yet in connection with the new series.

Of course, let's establish what we're saying here.

This Wonder Woman could be named "Diana" but if she's a Diana who is the last of the Amazons and has had life-changing experiences that no other WW has had, won't she be a sufficiently different character that it really doesn't matter what her name is?

High likelihood its Earth-2 Princess Diana, not Donna or anyone else using the Wonder Woman name.

But as far as which Diana...the answer is a new one. Not the pre-52 version, not the post-52 version. Not the pre-Crisis version, not the post-Crisis version. Its a new Earth-2, thus its going to be its own unique Diana. That's not to say there won't be evident inspiration from past versions in some elements of this character, I find that idea to be pretty likely, but in practice she's not going to be any previous version of Wonder Woman.

I've heard that also. I do wonder how well they can ignore the big three though. Still, what's good to me about the concept of Earth 2 is Jay, Alan and Al. Same codenames we're familiar with but different character under the mask. It already is different with just that. So why not apply it to the big three in some manner since this isn't the old Earth Two? I don't get the reasoning because if they exist then there should also be a Barry, Hal and Ray out there. And the new earth should have a Jay Garrick, Alan Scott and Al Pratt somewhere.

Exactly. Now personally, I'd rather all heroes who you would want to see in the coming years on the new earth so that's one reason to not use Donna. But if there's no plans and her existence makes problems, why not put her in a position where her history isn't going to be an issue. Especially one where they are more free to move Diana out of the role and allow Donna to make it her own. Instead, we're just getting another version of Diana on top of what we already had over the years. Of course, I'm sure its too late to make such changes but I would have liked to seen Earth 2 more volatile in that regard.

There doesn't necesarily have to have been a Barry, Hal and Ray on Earth 2. Same goes with Jay, Alan and Al on Earth Prime. The multiverse isn't just about duplicates, it's about having different histories. Who's to say that Hal, Barry and Ray's parents even met on Earth 2. Who's to say Jay, Alan, and Al haven't all died on Earth Prime? The possibilities are endless. Earth 2 and Earth Prime are 2 grains of sand in a desert that was the multiverse (pre-COIE). The size of the current desert is unknown.
