I say "standard" because they have been saying the same thing since issue 1.

Yes it makes you look cool or hip or whatever when you proclaim you don't like something as "mainstream" as JL, but c'mon. It's been more than a year already. Just read something else for goodness' sake.

It also amuses me to read comments about how "wrong" this book is. That's interesting because this book has at the top of the charts for more than a year now. If there's something wrong with that, don't fix it. Its not that it's "wrong". Its just that you're too sophisticated and intelligent to enjoy it [eyes roll].
    This.

And there are people who are not even buying it but claim the right to come month after month to pan it. Let's face it, if after 15 issues they are still doing this, it is about trolling.

If DC took on board the moaners on the net we'd never have a reboot, so they don't pay any mind to them. They pay attention to sales and this book brings in the sales.

I don't think its always just about trolling, I know anything I say regarding the quality of this book tends to stem from the back that I really want to like it.

That being said, I haven't been a fan of most of the issues so far (I did like a few though), but I'm optimistic that Johns will step his game up now that he's with his old pal Reis.

Well you read the books so that does not apply to you but for the folks who constantly came to say the same thing for 15 issues, and no doubt for more, admit they don't buy it, and hate something they never picked up...it IS trolling. Oh and let's not talk about the ones who claim to go to the shops to flip through it. It just confirms anyone can troll on the internet.

Ha admittedly I really do flip through it at the shop, probably since a few issues after origins.

And Johns certainly has his issues, but I think part of it might be Lee, considering the best parts of the series imo had others on art.

Has it been said to what degree Lee is involved with plotting?

I like what DC is doing with this book, I understand that this is the company's flagship book and it reads that way to me. What I mean is a person can pick it up and read it and you get a decent idea of who the characters are, Johns walks a fine line with his writing, he makes the characters fun, keeps some tension between certain members (Batman and Aquaman) but doesn't try to force things with the characters. You can actually jump on at almost any point and as long as you have a bsic understanding of the characters you should be fine.

I wish sometimes Johns would push it but I understand why he doesn't. I really enjoy this book for what it is and I love the Shazam back up.l
