What happened in Action Comics #8?

It finally finished a long, over-extended arc and had some ugly artwork at the end.

I didn't find it to be over-extended.

But, while it brought a cool ending to the arc, I don't recall any specific "holy shi#t moment as a previous poster put it. Plenty of cool moments, though.

I use "over-extended" because they threw in the two-issue story with the adult LSH in the middle of it when there didn't really seem to be a logical connection for it.

Yeah, that really ruined it for me. It lost all of it's momentum. It's why when WW was up against Action I didn't vote for Action. If the first story arc had gone off without an interupption I would ave voted for Action.
