Yeah, I think Cage is in the 40 ton range these days. Not enough to win against Namor, even a Namor on land, but definitely enough to put up a decent fight.

What? Geez, power boost again? Last time I asked the question about how strong he was, only a few months ago, the general consensus was a 25 tonner. Now it's 40? The guy started out as listed lifting about 3 tons. 3 TONS, I repeat. By the time Bendis gets over his man crush, Cage will be in the same league as the Hulk, or taking out Thor and Hercules with a flick of his pinky.
(End of rant. And now, back to our regularly scheduled program...)

Doc could always conjure up a magic sword if he needed to.
Why he feels he needs a sword magic or not against Magneto is another matter.
He could just dump him in another dimension with just a wave of his hands.
I saw that, the fact is, IIRC there's more than one soulsword (or it changes with the one who whields it?). It doesn't make sense for Strange to use a sword (similar to Kitty's soulsword btw) against Mags UNLESS it's a magical artifact. And since he just fought Illyana in Limbo, and Illyana's weapon is the soulsword, I think it's pretty reasonable to think he found a way to harness at least part of her power while fighting in Limbo...
Yeah, he'd be foolish to choose a metal weapon against Magneto. (Unless he didn't know he'd be dealing with Magneto).
It could well be that he saw Magik using hers and thought, "Hm, good idea..."
Too bad we won't know just what they're trying to find until AvX #3 is out. The obvious quarry is Hope, but maybe they're looking for Wanda?
I don't think that is reasonable at all. It seems clear that Magik has her Soulsword and Doc harnessing a portion of its power while she still wields would be something that would have been pulled out of the air.
There has only been one Soulsword. Others have wielded it(Amanda Sefton, Kitty, Margali) but it has been the same artifact for the most part. I believe others like Pixie have had somewhat similiar type weapons so it isn't impossible for Doc to fashion his own weapon but it really isn't likely that it is Magik's own soulsword. I hope it isn't like Magik's sword either. It would be an awesome feat for Doc to create it but it takes away the uniqueness of Magik's weapon.
Magik still has her sword in the other preview page. If he took her soulblade or learned how to make one himself, it's obviously not affecting her.
Strange has been shown using a magic/energy blade created from thin air before. Or he might have brought a swordlike artifact with him. Or he might have simply picked a sword up off the ground.
It's possible that Doc has fashioned his own magical sword and is powering it with energy stolen from Magik's sword. That would be easy enough for him to do. I doubt that it's her actual soul sword unless Marvel has decided to scale down her abilities and is using this event as an excuse, just as they used the WW Hulk series as an excuse to scale down Doc's own abilities. I doubt it though.
The simplest answer is that Doc conjured up his own sword, something that would be super easy for him to do. That would be something that classic Doc Strange would do: find the right tool to use to match whatever situation he finds himself facing.
Though Strange probably would be the underdog fighting Magik in her own dimension, I don't think it's that hard to see.
Really, Strange has made a career of doing that sort of things with guys like Dormammu, Satanish, and Mephisto. Magik isn't the first hell lord he's gotten the better of, and likely won't be the last. It's really just another day at work for Stephen if you think about it.
No disrespect to Magik... on her turf she's the favorite. But overcoming these odds in this sort of situation is exactly what Strange does for a living.
Wouldn't it be like stealing energy from her own soul, though? I don't think that would be quite as easy. I am not sure it would be super useful against Magneto either. I don't know about recently but it used to be noted that it really didn't bring a whole lot of power against normal humans/mutants but was a massively powerful anti-magic device.
I agree. The simplest answer is that Doc conjured up his own sword, something that would be super easy for him to do. That would be something that classic Doc Strange would do: find the right tool to use to match whatever situation he finds himself facing.
Actually, he was trading punches with those guys, not knocking them down. BIG difference. Orka was taken down after the Black Knight softened him up. Iron Clad took Cage down the first time they clashed (albeit with the help of the other U-Foes) and the second time, while Cage did seem to knock him down temporarily, the U-Foes were under orders of the Master to let him give a good showing in front of his teammates, and ultimately, IC and the rest of the gang were double-crossed and taken out by a device of the Master. Since Orka has had a significant power down since those days of Roxxon, knocking down all Avengers with a punch and going toe to toe with Thor, and Iron Clad was never shown to be AS strong as the Thing, even when he was still considered a 60 tonner (Ben has also gone up, and I'd rate Iron Clad at 50 ton), I'll have to disagree. I can totally see a tough onery guy like 25 tonner Luke go up against someone twice as strong as him, but Namor is, at the very least, three times as strong, probably more. That's a lot. The only power difference in those H4H days is that Luke described himself as having 300 pounds of solid musle and diamond hard skin. Today, he's back to having steel hard skin (not sure about his weight, though. He seems slimmer. Maybe he lost some.). I wonder which makes him a badder ass?
