Two Worlds - About the only thing I can comment is the magic. I'm not a magic person, (always prefered warrior class) but I did see my brother's friend casting wind magic and summoned a twister. It's the only thing I saw in the game that was cool. Only thing was the combat system being crappy and the game lags a bit. As for magic, I don't know if casting a powerful fire spell would be as cool as that twister, but I don't really care.
DMC 2 - Even GameInformer made that joke about the HD collection. (Not a bad price for two good games.) Don't really get the hate. No matter how times you explain it to me. I've played it and finished it with the only complaint being that it was short.
Dragon Age 2 has already been said. Although the only reason why the combat system felt good was because you're mashing that button. Other than that, it was basically the same as Origins.

Star Wars: Jedi Power Battles
Most people hated this game because of its difficulty. I loved this game because of its difficulty. The developers of the game created actual jedi as seen in the movies, vulnerable but still powerful if you could master the skills. This steep learning curve on the mastering of the skills part is what turned people off the most, because I think they wanted their jedi to be gods instead of heroes. This was the first Star Wars game that allowed players to block and reflect multiple laser shots at once. Once you practiced it enough, it became as second nature to reflect shots as it did to cut through enemies, and then you could go through waves of enemies almost exactly like you see the jedi do in the movies. In addition, the game is a blast to play in multi-player co-op with a friend. Playing as Mace Windu and Qui-Gon Jinn together was immensely fun. The only gripe I had with the game is that the unlocked Darth Maul you could play wasn't the dual saber wielding Maul. It remains one of my favorite Star Wars games.
Transformers: Beast Wars
There are some legitimate reasons why this game is hated: the voice actors were weak imitations of the original VA's from the show, players could not attack while in beast mode, the game's visuals were incredibly blocky even by playstation standards, and the game was difficult. However, despite the flaws, I loved this game. First, it was the first Transformers game that actually let you choose the faction you fought for. For a franchise where the bad guys are as popular as the good guys, this was a wonderful feature. Second, the game actually followed the rules of the Beast Wars universe. The planet they were stuck on had on overabundance of energon which forced the Maximals and Predacons to spend most of their time in beast form to keep from going into stasis. While I could not attack anything, I could still scout ahead and mark my next targets for when I went into robot mode and unleashed Cybertronian fury on my enemies. Third, the unlockables actually made sense. Like in the show, you could find a stasis pod and recruit a new member to the team (for the Maximals, it was Rattrap, for the Preds, Blackarachnia). Fourth, each character had different strengths: Primal and Rhinox could unleash massive firepower while Cheetor and Rattrap could stay in robot mode longer. Fifth, the boss battles made sense. You fought actual enemies from the show. Maximals would have to face Megatron, Inferno, etc while Preds had to face Primal, Rhinox, and the rest. In short, while the game had a rushed feel to it and could have used a couple more months of polish, the core gameplay itself matched the Beast Wars story and provided fans an opportunity to experience life in the Beast Wars universe almost exactly as it was shown in season one of the show.
While I would say that Dragon Age 2 had combat that was generally more fun than the first game, it still didn't really work. There were parts later on in the game that felt as if they were meant to be played like a action game, and it's when you hit them that you truly feel just how bad the combat system is. Bioware should have taken a good hard look at action games like Devil May Cry, or even the lesser God of War, before they started work on the game.
Two Worlds was brought up, beside a demo I never played the first, (seemed almost unplayable from what I played of it) but I did play Two Worlds 2 and had a lot of fun with that game. Had a nice big world to mess around with, and things to do in the world. A fun magic system that let you mix the spells you have to create new one. The weapon based combat could have been better, but it wasn't really bad. The crafting system was also great in that game. I would say I had more fun playing Two Worlds 2 then I had playing Oblivion when that first came out.
I agree with the consensus that Dragon Age 2's combat was better but the rest of the game was worse. If you're playing as a mage, it's particularly fun.
Me too. FFVIII is my favourite FF game after X and tends to be the one I crave most when I'm not playing an FF game. I think it had the best minigame, it introduced the concept of all limit breaks being interactive (except those of guest characters) and, even though FFXIII had the only characters I liked, I find FFVIII's to be the ... least unlikeable of the ones I disliked. Uh, yeah.
Anyway, to introduce a new game to the topic, I never got the criticism for Fable. Especially The Lost Chapters and especially on PC.

I am going to give a little love to The Last Remnant. I loved this game. I liked making up different teams and having 20 some characters all being controlled at a time was fun for me. I think if Square would have taken just a little more time on it they could have had a great game, but even with its flaws it was still alot of fun to play. It might have been better served had it come out a few years latter when the tech could have better supported its massive battles.
WET
This game got a lot of negative press, and a bit of it for good reason. You should get scorn for your ending being a QTE.
However Wet had a really good soundtrack and trying to blend games with a bit of grindhouse was actually a pretty neat idea.
I never felt the gameplay was as sloppy as some reviews indicated either.
Overall Dragon Age 2 was a good game. There were only 3 real problems with it.
1. repetitive maps
2. The elf companions were lame. And so was the crazy mage do
3. Story was good for the first half of the game, but the later half with the templars vs mages it got stupid and contrived, and the ending was lazy and forced.
Overall still a good game but the ending kind of leaves a a bad taste in your mouth.
Overall Bioware does some good things but just recycling the same elements from KOTOR in the majority of its RPG's is getting old. I think Bioware seriously needs to outsource a new lead writer for some of its games. The gameplay is generally great.......... well if you ignore that spy RPG game.......... and the concepts are great as is the voice acting. But over the last recent years the writing could have been tighter, particularly with concluding games. The reason mass effect 1 in 2 worked so well because they just ended setting up for the other installments. And really their endings worked well as stand alones as well
