Went to the midnight premier and loved it. Best superhero movie I've ever seen. I loved Banner/Hulk. Just the way Ruffalo presented himself and also refered to Hulk as "the other guy" like some vain attempt to push away the monster. When he was on screen there was always this lingering feeling that he could hulk out and kill someone, a man teetering on the edge of violence. And when the Hulk finally does come out, it's devastating.

I was surprised Whedon decided to have Hawkeye be a villain for a good portion of the movie, but when he came back I felt bad for him and by then you knew some of the backstory between him and Black Widow which I feel they both deserve their own movie. Either a team up or solo. I guess it's jut because Hawkeye is one of my favorite characters from the Ultimates (meant to be avengers sure, but he had a very ultimate feel, costume and personality-wise). I loved how funny it was too. So many good moments. Just fuuuuuuuck, my mind just melted from how awesome that movie was.

Well I saw it again tonight and Whedon did what I believed was the impossible. He made me like Hawkeye.

Ha! Did the same thing. Hit the midnight premiere last night and my sister wanted to see it tonight so I caved. This time I went for 3D and I'm glad I did because it was EPIC. You could tell that this movie was made for 3D in mind, rather than being shoehorned in post-development. The end fight scene was brilliant.

I'm also impressed with Whedon as far as Hawkeye is concerned. I LOVED the utility of his specialized arrows. The execution with the quiver was just brilliant, because that's definitely one of those concepts that can fall on the campy side if not done properly. Has that concept been used elsewhere? That to me just screams like an Ultimate idea =D. I was also very impressed by how well Whedon's screenplay justifies Hawkeye's role as a Spec Ops soldier. If you pay attention, he's always got a team that uses guns, so in that regard he's more of a weapons specialist than an outlier whose effectiveness in modern combat hurts the suspension of disbelief. He's basically got a quiver full of silent, medium range RPGs, not to mention the grappling hooks, that anti-personnel scattershot tip he used at the end, computer interfaces, etc... AND you get the rule of cool boost from having an archer on the team . He and Widow's camaraderie is great too. Avengers really might be my favorite iteration of Hawkeye I've ever seen.
Marriage Era Spidey bashers are shameful opportunists (Like you REALLY didn't enjoy a single Spidey comic in 20 years)
Conversely, BND haters REALLY need to get over their continuity elitism already

I think if they do a SHIELD movie, it should be a prequel (So then they could have spoilers:
    Coulson
end of spoilers still in it). Hawkeye as a villain was a neat nod to his first appearance in Avengers as a villain (also against his will then too I think).

Also anyone who doesn't like this movie is a mewling quim :P

Saw this last night and I just wanted to say I agree with everyone who loved the movie. Now I'm just trying to figure out when I can see it again.
    1) Find a bad guy
    2) Be Wolverine
Ultimate Wolverine is coming back, sort of!

Hawkeye is probably my favorite Ultimates character as well, and the movie version has pretty much been the Ultimate version, which I'm cool with. I would love to see a Hawkeye/Widow movie or just a SHIELD movie in general, since I'm also a huuuuge Nick Fury fan.

Agreed about Ruffalo as the Hulk. He was pretty much my favorite character.

This movie was amazing! There's a reason why critics actually LIKE this movie and it holds a 93% on Rotten Tomatoes. Not to mention doing right by fans. A definite must see.

I retract my first comment Ruffalo really was brilliant, not just good. (Saw it again) I love Fury's badass moments in this too. I also like the subtle visual stuff, like Hawkeye holding a few arrows before the 360 shot, indicating he's retrieving them from bodies, explaining why it takes him a while to run out.

Yeah that's cool! Don't you see him picking up a few arrows at some point?
