Default The avengers movie. Ultimate perspecitives. Also spoilers. For everything. Ever.

    Hated it.

Also: can anybody help me make a meme. I want a frame from fight club with everyone standing over bob's dead body and the caption is "his name is agent coleson"

Firstly I am currently residing in a county where cinema's are illegal (no really) and has no copyright law (no really) so I was forced to stream the movie, and the shitty quality and lack of 3d probably didn't help.

So..... That's the chitauri? Really? So mr. Wheadon obviously has read ultimates but just didn't think it was as good as his script. I confess I was bored. In 2 movies they have yet to find a good motivation for Loki.... They stole ultimate hawk eye and black widow and why was hulk in control at the end?

I dunno... I'm struggling to express myself, the dialogue was good but that's the base line of what you expect from joss.... I was a little freaked out when iron man talked about getting a Schwarma when I was eating one, I swear it's all I live on... I just felt like the whole movie stole so much from ultimates but not it's heart and soul... And that ruined it for me.

1.Joss adapted the Chiauri for film and did a fine job of it.
    2. Loki's "motivation" is to rule earth, so he can feel like a king again *Watch Thor*
    3.They "Stole" ultimate Hawkeye? Umm...ok
4.At the end of Hulk's solo film, there's a hint he has finally learnt to control that side of him which The Avengers confirms.
5.It had more heart and soul then the Ultimates did and it wasn't a straight page by page of the Ultimates.

Really, you let yourself down by watching a bootleg and alot of your complaints are petty/lack of research on your part.

    The movie was great.

I agree with marvelgeek, the movie was awesome. It had Ultimate-inspired elements, but I don't think it's fair to say it stole much from the UU. We got Fury and Hawkeye's costume sure, but the main plot was quite different, as were the team member's motivations for joining up. You can't really claim "alien invasion" is Ultimates-derived, it's like sci-fi plots 101. Also, I feel like the team acted much more like a team, you've got Widow closing the portal, Iron Man getting rid of the bomb, Cap saving civilians, Hawkeye on recon and Thor and Hulk thinning the crowd of invaders. In Ultimates everyone is just fighting all the aliens basically and it's more or less Hulk and Thor that save the day. I love The Ultimates a lot, but Avengers got the team dynamic much better, I think.

As for the Chitauri, they were just named that so they could use a comics-sourced set of aliens, the fact they didn't resemble or act like the Ultimate chitauri was no big deal for me, it would've complicated the plot and taken time away from the character interaction. So I'm afraid I really don't agree with your post Nurse.

    Acheron. Skywhales!

EDIT: I thought the movie was about as perfect as it could be. Tingles, emotion, action, comedy, a plot you can actually follow, and a post credits reveal that only fans will get! :D

Also; you watched a bootleg copy. In my eyes you don't deserve to enjoy the film so part of me is glad you hated it. Too harsh? Possibly but just how I feel about bootleggers dismissing films.

I have to ask: why did you hate it Nurse? I could maybe understand disliking it but hate is a strong word and you don't seem to have given a reason beynd "it's not The Ultimates" =/

perhaps I need to repeat myself. In the kingdom of Saudi Arabia cinemas are illegal, prohibited, the cause of riots, there is in no way any capacity for me to see this film in a cinema, or pay to watch it, you may as well comPlain if astronauts watched the film.

Anyway for me The film occupies the uncanny valley it looks like ultimates but it's 616 at its core

I still don't feel that's enough reason to "hate" the film, surely there's more to it that that? the films have always been an amalgam of 616 and Ultimate.

Something which Whedon fully intended it to be. And he pulled it off. Therefore I see no flaws. Rather you misinterpreted the film in your expectations.

Ruffalo was OK but no better than OK. It would have been nice if Marvel could have retained Ed Norton for The Avengers but I guess it just wasn't meant to be. Cap's mask really doesn't work well on film either. I think they either need to stick to the WWII style helmet or just ditch it completely. Besides that the movie was absolutely fantastic! The Hulk was finally portrayed how I've always imagined. Much more powerful and monstrous than he was portrayed in his solo films. The interactions between the Avengers and dialogue especially was very well done.

I disagree, while I didn't love Ruffalo as many reviews have, I did prefer him to Norton. Not that I didn't like Norton but I found him a tad bland in Incredible Hulk.

Well, I did it. I found the one person on Earth who hated Avengers.

Am I missing something here? How have so many people seen the movie already? It doesn't open until May 4th. I know the guy in Saudi Arabia who apparently thinks Marvel is capable of 'stealing ideas' from a fictional universe that it created watched a bootleg, but what about everybody else? Did you win tickets to a sneak preview or something?

Aaah, I failed to consider that. I wonder why there wouldn't just be a hard release date all around the world, though.
