How do you solve a problem like Warpath?

but warpath already IS interesting. he's hilarious, looks great in a caesar cut and chaps, and can hang easily with the big boys as well as the sidekicks. he needs more page time. he should also get laid more. james is at his best when he's getting laid.

Me too.
and I guess it's the one of the reasons why I think he has the potential to be made into an upper-tier character in an x-book.
There's a blank-canvas aspect to him now with the whole avenging my brother and tribe has been essentially resolved. I would think that this clean-slate would be appealing to a writer (especially considering how Mark Waid has been able to completely re-vitalize Daredevil into one of the best books currently been published (although I'll concede that warpath is no Daredevil before anyone else slams me for the comparison)).

Good writing is all you need for any character. No characters are impossible to make interesting or compelling. Some characters might be easier to write than others, though.

Warpath is basically just someone that punches things. It's why he's not that interesting (and why Hulk, Colossus, Jugs, etc are all not that interesting)

Just a big guy who hits things is pretty boring and that is how Warpath has been treated in many contexts (especially in the most recent run on Adjectiveless). Yet, he was portrayed in a much more dynamic way during Brubaker's tenure and on Wolverine's iteration of X-Force and I thought it was terrific. That's what I'd like to see returned.

1. RISQUE. I think in this rare case, the context of a relationship made Warpath more interesting. She was an fun foil whose extroversion highlighted his somewhat naive and serious nature.

2. BOOM BOOM. Once again, I think a good foil would make him more interesting. He doesn't really have very many memorable relationships that make it easy to insert him into a book or storyline and a flighty broad like Tabz would help lighten his often broody demeanor.

Plus, he stabbed two men to death for her in X-Force. If that's not love, I don't know what is.
