According to New Avengers 25, there's a red haired girl with green eyes named Bird of Fire living in the mystical realm of Iron Fist land. At first, I assumed this is where the writers had Hope run to after she left Utopia. Unfortunately, the explanation is even more bizarre.
Apparently, she's not Hope. This girl has lived there for many years. The story that is implied but not confirmed is that her mother, one of the Asia-stereotype villagers, spent a week on her back on the mainland and got knocked up by a pasty, red-haired man with green eyes before returning home. Ostensibly, these must be characteristics of the father because the mother has none of these traits. No one in stereotype Asia mystical land has these traits.
Discussion Question 1: Does this imply that Hope's biological father was doing a little bit of a Johnny Appleseed impression, knocking up woman from Alaska to Iron Fist land?
Fun nonsensical and completely unnecessary continuity bomb: The Iron Fist-ville mystical leader guy, who dresses in a green KKK outfit, states that the secrets of the Phoenix were not to be revealed until the Phoenix returns. Now that that Phoenix has returned in AvX, the mystical leader is educating this Asian version of Korvac about the Phoenix. In other words, this issue is claiming that this is the first ever return of the Phoenix.
Discussion Question 2: Did the Dark Phoenix Saga simply not count as the Phoenix Force returning for the Davis Duke of Iron Fist land? Or, did Grand Dragon Iron Fist simply fail to notice the Phoenix's return all of the other times it came to Earth? Perhaps, all the other times the Phoenix Force hadn't returned and was only visiting?
(Note: the Iron Fist leader guy could also be said to be dressed like a green Cobra Commander)
