I'm really excited for this book, and the rest of Valiant's titles.
I know nothing about this character, or the publisher, but the covers are awesome, and I'm a huge Cary Nord fan. So, hopefully the writing is up-to-par (though I am disappointed there's already a new writer on issue 2), because my days of buying books solely for the art are over.
I'm going to try and see if I can find any of the back issues.
Someone once told me that time was a predator that stalked us all our lives. I rather believe that time is a companion who goes with us on the journey and reminds us to cherish every moment, because it'll never come again. What we leave behind is not as important as how we've lived. After all, we're only mortal. - Jean-Luc Picard
In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and has been widely regarded as a bad move. - The Guide
Favorite books: X-O Manowar, Bloodshot, Harbinger, Archer & Armstrong, Shadowman, Green Lantern, Batman, Batman & Robin, Invincible, Uncanny Avengers, Avengers, Indestructible Hulk, and The Sixth Gun.
Yeah, Venditti isn't going anywhere, so no worries Elayis.
Good luck with your back issue search. Pre-Unity Valiant books can be hard to find due to low print runs, but they are out there. Though the fear is the asking prices will be rising due to the relaunch. There is always the hardcover trade "XO-Manowar: Birth" which was released in 2009 (I think). It has the first 6 issues plus the famous Joe Quesada issue #0 and a new story about one of the villains. Definitely worth the read, as are the recent "Harbinger: The Beginning" and "Archer & Armstrong: First Impressions" hardcover trades.
VALIANT, Saga, Manhattan Projects, Locke & Key, Hawkeye, Young Avengers.
