And wow, this is a close one. Animal Man is just in the lead at the mo. I'm a little surprised. Not becaue I don't think Animal Man deserves to win, but because Batman has a lot more readers so has a greater pool to pull votes from.

Animal Man: I'd never even heard of him til New 52 and didn't initially get the book until I heard about the rave reviews. Now though its one of my favorite books to have been put out in the last ten years.

Batman: Considering its Batman Snyder is doing a great job. Other than the occasional TPB / graphic novel I've never read Batman and have always found him cartoony and the whole teen sidekick thing bugs me. Snyder though wrote a good story and it was almost good enough to make me keep getting the book despite the $3.99 price increase.

In the end though its not even close for me, Animal Man all the way.

Well, people like Reginleif are established posters here . . . who may drive some of us batty sometimes, but isn't just showing up suddenly and only posting a vote in this contest.

I believe Paulski did say:

So even people who came to the CBR Forums specifically to vote up Red Hood can have their votes count as long as once they come here they participate in discussions (just voting without commenting doesn't count) and play nicely with others.

I think the Batman series is fantastic and deserves to win this one. Don't even know who Animal Man is but I guess I'll be picking up his series some time soon
