I quite like the variant:
I could see Fabok becoming a big star. His style is like a cross of many of the most popular comics artists these days (Lee, Finch, Gary Frank, etc).

For the record, Tony Daniel told me on his blog that his "Jeremiah Arkham as Black Mask" arc is no longer in continuity and Roman Sionis' death is no longer in continuity. It seems to me this was a post Batman #1 being drawn decision as it was obvious that the Black Mask in the panel was modeled after Jeremiah Arkham.
Pull List: None. Moving to trade-waiting.
Daniel's "late decision" to join the Night of the Owls party coinciding with the cleaning up of that issue seems to me like an example of "I don't think I have anything to say about the Owls ... hold on wait a minute, I can totally use this to clean up that slightly larger than we expected mess". It's not the first time creators called something "out of continuity" but then decided to address it anyway, and I'm glad that he did. It shows flexibility, as well as paying attention to some of the hardcore fans. But more than that, I just like the idea that as he was thinking about one thing and approached about the other, he came up with something and just decided to implement it.

Am I the only one who thinks that Tony Daniel is introducing too many villains that he won't be able to juggle properly? It's almost like the McDaniel Static Shock issues that had so many villains that none got a real focus. It's one thing to have Easter eggs with known villains but he's creating completely new ones.
Seems he writes okay dialogue when there's no heroes on scene. His Batman and Hawkman voices are trite and cliche.
I always thought it was a big mistake in making Jeremiah into the Black Mask. Come to think of it, I always thought it was a big mistake in killing Roman off to begin with. So I'm glad that everything is back to the way it should be in regards to the Black Mask and I certainly wouldn't mind seeing Scott Snyder have a storyline that featured the Black Mask, I could already envision him having fun with the False Face Society.
I'm not sure when Steeljacket is from, though I do know he's from somewhere. Fright is from "As the Crow Flies", one of Winnick's stories. You know, the one that had the Scarecrow turn into a giant mutant monster. Nocturne is from the Jason Todd stories Pre-Crisis, though she was used during RIP.
Ahh why doesn't DC put Detective comics up on Comixology quicker?! It's about 7pm in the UK (at the earliest) before I can download it. Dark Horse has their comics up at midnight (US time), so when I wake up I can download them straight away. Would be nice to be able to do the same with Tec.
