By mythology Hyppolita is daughter of Ares so, that would make Diana both daughter and greatgranddaughter of Zeus. Anyway, Greek deities aren't people, they are concepts given physical form. The incest is a byproduct of the metaphorical connections between these personified concepts, just like their behaviour. You see ''vengeful Hera'' in relation to Zeus cheating because she's marriage incarnate. Zeus is inconstant and womanizing because he's the weather personified. They can't not be like this anymore then Ion(GL), the entity of will can be compliant.
Ex: Hephestus lust over Athena. Athena is not interested in sex. She's war. But she never decisively puts him off. Because war is interested in the creation of technology. So she strings him along, while he gives her gifts to seduce her.
Best DC: Animal Man, Wonder Woman, Batman.
Best Marvel: Daredevil.
Best Independent: Walking Dead, Saga, Mind a Gap.
By the way, my response was partly (but only partly) tongue-in-cheek.
Unfortunately for us, many readers / customers / writers / editors tend to equate "wholesome and good" with "old fashioned and boring". (Just look at what Geoff Johns has done so far with Billy Batson.)
Batson is just a kid with issues and so he acts like a douche because that's his defense mechanism. His new family will obviously break his shield and allow for the true Billy to appear. Johns has stated that family is the most important theme of Captain Marvel and he started with Billy's journey into finding one, getting accepted in one, and learning to be part of it. To me that makes it that much more interesting and worthy as opposed to having him in the family from the start all happy. BOOM a thunder transforms him into CM and he beats the bad guy.
Sorry for going off topic.
Yes, but another famous origin is that she rose from the froth of Uranus' severed genitalia, making her more a monster like the giants and the furies, although a beautiful one.She would not be sister to Hephaestus and Ares In WW Eros called Hermes "uncle," so Heph or Ares can be his father.
Yeah, the problem was Helen was already married and had a kid. That would be another reason why Hera would hate Aphrodite, even though Helen was one of Zeus' bastards.
I'm looking forward to seeing Aphrodite in WW. Zeus and Hyppolyta's union seems like Aphrodite is up to the same mischief.
