Ouch. I never liked that version of Huntress, but I sympathize with her fans at least.

Nice logo; first I'd seen that. Looks like an interesting story, actually.

Not sure it was the right decision about Bertinelli though; this is sure to piss off a bunch of fans. Then again, the Bertinelli who died is not "our" Helena anyway.

This is really just more backpedaling from the recent Huntress mini. It's pretty clear that when Levitz started writing that, it was supposed to be about Helena Bertinelli. Then, soon after he started, it was decided to make Huntress Helena Wayne instead. So, he kind of explained at the end of the mini that Bertinelli was just an identity she adopted. This takes it a further step and says there had once been a real Helena Bertinelli. Sort of like Matches Malone.

You know, I was okay with Helena Wayne taking back the role of the Huntress. Back when I thought Earth 2 was the old Earth 2. But since it isn't, I feel like I've lost a favorite interpretation. Oh well, hope this one is a great.

Hmm. It's only a couple of pages but there's more to dislike than like so far. The aforementioned fate of Helena B. And Karen's immediate reaction to a burning building is to ask if a piece of equipment is safe?

Still, we ain't seen it all yet so the jury remains out.

Probably a good call by DC. This prevents there from being another Huntress on Earth-Whatever. I thought the concept worked best when Huntress was a character unique to Earth-2, even though I personally grew up with the Bertinelli Huntress.

Ooooh, that really does hurt. Perfect video reaction though, FHIZ.

Yeah Batman family is untouched by the reboot....except all Bat-women outside of Batwoman and Barbara are sent into limbo, gutted, and killed off.

OH MY GOD what is wrong with DC? Do they realize the ire they're going to get for this?

Equipment that'll help get her home. That's been her priority number 1 since coming to this Earth. She wants to go home.

Yeah, that much I figured. But she was Supergirl back on Earth 2, right? You'd think those heroic tendencies would kinda be second nature. I know one of the blurbs/solicits for this issue asked the question, "And what incident prompts her to take up her new identity of Power Girl?", but I figured that was just referring to the costume and the name, rather than her attitude in general.

I would also add de-aging the crap out of Barbara to the list of surgical alterations to the Bat family, but honestly I am more confused by DC's intent behind this reboot in regards to examples such as Huntress: Is it truly to cleanup/streamline a universe and rewind continuity a bit, or are they looking for just any vehicle to get everyone back to their Pre-crisis state? Because I don't see introducing an alternate Earth storyline as a leaner, meaner universe.

The whole "cleanup" excuse falls apart when you have 3 former Robins and a current Robin with a history that doesn't match the one most people know.

And yes, the way DC is treating the female members of the Bat family is terrible. I won't be checking this book.
