    Default Kindt on Frankenstein Interview!

    http://www.comicbookresources.com/?p...ticle&id=38342

For whatever reason it's not showing up in the forums, but from off the front page here it is! I actually 'conducted' the interview, and it was a lot of fun to do. Really, really pumped about this run!

wow didn't realize it was on the indie forums?
not that I argue since Franky's book does have a indie feel to it

looking forward to matt's run. sounds interesting - weird characters and the nature of their existence - cant go wrong with that - sounds very doom patrolish

and thank god alberto ponticelli is staying on the book. this guy doesnt get enough props.

I really like the art in the Frankenstein title, but I wasn't feeling Lemire's writing. I thought it felt like he was throwing a bunch of crazy ideas out there without the substance or anything underlying to bring it all together. Kindt sounds like he has a good handle on this, so I will give his first issue a shot.

I found it really interesting that he does book design work too. That is an overlooked aspect of comics that can make a big deal to me.

Looks like I need to add this book. Any jumping point that's good place to start?

he sounds like a perfect fit for this book! i really hope the sales pick up. it would be awful to loose this book as it's really the only fun "crazy concept" book in the current 52.

    still miss you OMAC.

If you can buy prior numbers, probably the #6. If not, #9 is a one-shot/fill-in (to promote Animal Man?), and in #10 is the official start of Kindt.

i am expecting this book to be cancelled around issue 16 just because people dont seem to enjoy this kind of vibe but DC must be expecting big things of matt kindt so maybe this is a little run to get his feet under the table and his name established before hopefully they launch a third wave book with him at helm.

love to be wrong though as i do like a monthly dose of nonsense

agree with shinomune - issues 6 or 10 are good points to jump on. 1-4 was one story, 5 a single issue, 6 a done in one and some lead in to 7 which wrapped up with a little lead in to 8. its all pretty easy to follow though.

I've been enjoying the series so far, and was actually saddened to hear Lemire would be leaving. But this interview has got me excited to see what Kindt has in store!

I really think Kindt's run is poised to be better than LEmire's. Just from the solicit it feels as though he's even more out there, conceptually, than Lemire was trying to be. And from his previous work he certainly has the storytelling chops to make it happen.

As for jumping on points? Really you can pick up any issue without a problem. I personally loved the done-in-one of issue 6, as mentioned above, which was very character centric with lots of fun nods to various important pieces of comic fiction, but I don't think you'd be lost with any issue of the series. You might also think about picking up the TPB, while you're at it!

Kindt is one of my favorite indie creators. His Robotman feature on My Greatest Adventure was really good, and I'm stoked to see what he'll do on a "mainstream" (sort-of) title.

thats one of the things I like with Kindt on the title of this book
he is an indie writer on a not so mainstream mainstream book I'm sure he'll feel good on this title
