Default does the name Justice league dark even mean anything?

doesn't seem to....what's worse is the fact that the team isn't even a team most of the team and not once they have called themselves Justice League Dark so that just seems like a name that will be added later or not at all....maybe they thought the justice league name would result in more sales

I remember reading somewhere that once the change in writers was done that JL and JLD would be made to be more closely associated.

They're the Dark Division/version of the Justice League. Just like there's an International version.

They're just a team of the dark characters or so, so the name is probably to drive sales. At least the International version did call themselves as such, at least sort of.

It means the same thing "Days Inn", "Howard Johnson", "Super 8", "Baymont Inn", "Travelodge" and "Ramada" do to Wyndham.

Yeah, I don't get why they had to call them Justice League Dark. I'd much rather have them been called Sentinels of Magic (or just Sentinels for short) or presented them as a new line-up for the Shadowpact. That way we could have old members, like Blue Devil, Ragman, Raven, and Doctor Fate, have a point of entry in the DCnU.

Yeah, it means that the 30,000 fans who wouldn't pick up a book called Shadowpact, Sentinels of Magic, or Primal Force pick up this title.

I always thought it were a League of men and women who sought Justice for those who could not seek it themselves in the Dark side of the Universe.

The whole supernatural horror line is called "The Dark", so it definitely ties to that. Still, Lemire promised to give us something of an explanation. Zatanna's the one with the classic JLA connection, and she got the affair sanctioned by Batman. She's a showman by nature, so I find it reasonable she dubbed them that; the second Justice League that deal with the "things that go bump in the dark" and some-such. Some quirky, funny thing.

The new writer promises to steer the team to be more like a supernatural version of a Justice League. We'll be seeing old Justice League villains like Felix Faust. And we'll probably be getting actual plots.
Current favorites: Claymore, Birds of Prey, Black God, A Certain Scientific Railgun, Excel Saga

I haven't really seen anything to do with this book yet. Does Zatanna still have that neat little costume?

I hope that promise actually happens because it's the only reason I'm still buying. So far, JLD has been a disappointment compared to Dini's Zatanna series.

Not really. Her outfit kind of alludes to her old one, but it's more of the standard leather pants, small top concept. I'll just add that I was ok with that since only Deadman is the only one with a classic-looking costume and it seemed a bit more practical than the stage outfit with kitten heels. Well....until the last arc where they gave her a V-neck top that would make Catwoman proud. It didn't fit her character or the situation at all. However, there have been far worse female getups, so I'll limit my complaining.
