Default Project CBRunway 7: Challenge 5

    CHALLENGE 5: EYE CANDY

    This is Project CBRunway
. You're either in or you're out. Who will be CBR’s next big comic costume and character designer?

Good afternoon, designers. Welcome back to the runway.

This next challenge may seem familiar to fans of Project Runway Season 4.

For your fifth challenge you must create a signature look for a costumed crime-fighter using the online catalog at www.hersheysstore.com. Did you notice they don't sell any pants? In addition to everything for sale on The Hershey's Store website, you can also incorporate basic materials like thread, muslin, glue, etc. But it will be up to you to explain how your costume is constructed. Your costume design can include weapons or accessories so long as they're fully constructed from items available in the store. All submissions should include a three-sentence description of the costume explaining, to the best of your ability, material, functionality, design inspiration, etc. You should also provide links to all catalog items used in your look. Additionally you may give your character a "name", but please do NOT include anything about powers, abilities, history, origins, etc.

    Submission Requirements

    1. Artwork may be done in any medium but must be in color.
    2. Artwork may be no larger than 550-pixels wide and 800-pixels long. For challenges requiring multiple characters, each character should be submitted separately.
    3. Entries must be inserted into your PM, using such services as Photobucket.com or imageShack.com. If you are unable to use such a service you may e-mail your entry and we will host the image for you for the duration of the competition.
    4. All submissions should include a three-sentence description of the costume explaining, to the best of your ability, material, functionality, design inspiration, etc. Do not provide any additional information such as biographies or power descriptions unless requested.

You have only five days, through midnight PDT of Monday, April 30 to Private Message (PM) me your entries for that week’s Challenge. Be sure to select “Request a read receipt for this message” in the Miscellaneous Options section before sending so you know I've received it. There will be no extensions or exceptions.

Post any questions, comments, or concerns about this challenge in this thread. The voting thread will be posted this coming Tuesday.

    Make it work!

And non-contestants, be sure to Play Along at Home using materials from www.mymms.com!

This was one of my least favorite challenges ever.

The online catalog challenge. It's all about making things look like what you're using. It's tedious.

Ah, memories. All my heroes for the City of Heroes MMORPG were candy-themed. Except Blaster Ape. He was an ape.

I was kind of swamped volunteering all weekend at MoCCAFest. Might not have time or energy to execute well. And I really need to execute well. so few votes.
