What happened to the trust?

Some love is just a lie of the heart
The cold remains of what began with a passionate start
And they may not want it to end
But in real it's just a question of when
I've lived long enough to have learned
The closer you get to the fire the more you get burned
But that won't happen to us
Because it's always been a matter of trust
I know you're an emotional girl
It took a lot for you to not lose your faith in this world
I can't offer you proof
But you're going to face a moment of truth
It's hard when you're always afraid
You just recover when another belief is betrayed
So break my heart if you must
It's a matter of trust
You can't go the distance
With too much resistance
I know you have doubts
But for God's sake don't shut me out
This time you've got nothing to lose
You can take it, you can leave it
Whatever you choose
I won't hold back anything
And I'll walk a way a fool or a king
Some love is just a lie of the mind
It's make believe until its only a matter of time
And some might have learned to adjust
But then it never was a matter of trust
I'm sure you're aware love
We've both had our share of
Believing too long
When the whole situation was wrong
Some love is just a lie of the soul
A constant battle for the ultimate state of control
After you've heard lie upon lie
There can hardly be a question of why
Some love is just a lie of the heart
The cold remains of what began with a passionate start
But that can't happen to us
Because it's always been a matter of trust

It's an interesting question and I hope the thread doesn't get instantly subsumed into 'General AVX.' I think the trust began to corrode when the mutant population was decimated post M-Day. All mutants, good guys and bad guys ended up having to rally and group together; survival became contingent on their working together and, as so is the case, it ended up driving them apart. This will sound terrible, but it kind of reminded me of Primo Levi's 'Survival in Auschwitz,' where Levi found, much to his horror, that he had to fend for himself, not just against the guards, but also from his fellow prisoners.
Trust is tucked away in a lycra booty-short.

Fried Wolverine seems to be a trend that's gaining traction #friedwolverine
Dog's hilarious scene with his "MM mmm, I love some roast Wolverine!" dialogue was the tablesetter.

Bunch of frozen hearts. I'm sure they make Hope miss her days stuck in a spaceship when the earth was dying.
No matter. Like she says, THEY WILL understand.
There's trust guys. Hope wouldn't have burned Wolverine up. She didn't burn Spider-Man. Why? Because he's not family! We say mean things to our family because we know they'll never go away.

What's the saying - you hurt the ones you love.
Magneto joined the team, and everyone not okay with it is suspicious of everyone who is.

Please, things were not okay even before Magneto kneeled his way into the fold.
I kind of want to say Deadly Genesis was the kicker, but I think everyone has pretty much forgot about that and Xavier in general, so I'll go with the second escape goat, Bishop. He was the last betrayal straw.
I'm going to go with the four-shot combo of the Genosha massacre, Professor X dickery*, M-day, and Schism. M-day was heartbreaking, Genosha was horrifying, and then intermixing it with the good professor having feet of clay was just too much. Schism is an out-and-out ideological split much like protestants vs Catholics.
*Deadly Genesis, and Danger.
