Agreed. Especially since it was done in ultimate already.

And essentially the end of Spider-Island

    And etc etc etc.

The only reason Peter Parker would ever stop being Spider-Man is if he's physically unable to do it anymore. That's it. Whether that means being dead(which hasn't stopped him before), old age(which again, didn't stop him in Reign), or something he just can't beat.
He lost his leg in the MC2 universe. And after a while he STILL became Spider-Man again.

I think we can safely conclude that
with all Pete's been through the only way he'll stop being Spidey permanently
is if he get's desintegrated and not a molecule of Pete remains.

    I REPEAT NOT EVEN ONE

Maybe "Peter's gone" as in "I am the spider"...

Peter dies and then gets replaced by a real spider bitten by a radioactive human.

That doesn't preclude them from drawing closer to each other though.

If I had one cent for every time someone said "If this happens, Marvel is gone beyond all hope" and then continued enjoying Marvel after it happened, well I'd be rich as hell

Your idea could be done easilly with another character, but having another "death of spider-man" story line right now would be lame

Nope. There's going to be a mini called War Scars and it'll feature an unheard of black guy who'll turn out to be Peter Parker's son. He'll be taking over as Spidey from Peter as Peter retires permanently.

Well, Peter Parker said he couldn't be Spider-Man if he killed someone. The "No one dies" mantra Peter has been living by since the beginning of Big Time will inevitably bite him back very soon, somebody will either die on his watch again or he will more likely be forced to kill to save more. It will certainly be interesting to see where the No one dies idea climaxes.

You know what, it's everyone's worst period but I think if better explored there could be some good stories. Some good dark Spider-Man stories.

True. But MC2 is more an extension of the Marvel Universe of the mid-1990's. And MC2 is the representation of Tom Defalco's Universe. With regards to Mayday Parker, I like her Earth-X Venom counterpart. But, I doubt that anyone is interested with That version. And I wished that Felicity Hardy was confirmed to be Peter's biological daughter because that would have been an appealing plot twist. Instead, they said that Felicity is in fact Flash's daughter. Nah, I feel that MC2 is over and done with. I certainly do not want to see Peter Parker lose his leg to the likes of Norman Osborn. I think that most folks want to stay as far away from MC2 as possible. Otherwise, it would have done just as well as the Ultimate Universe.

I wouldn't mind someone else taking the mantle of Spider-Man as long as Peter and Mary Jane end up back together and were still part of the book as members of the supporting cast.

And I definitely wouldn't have minded if Ben Reilly had kept the mantle when Marvel pulled their switch as long as Peter and Mary Jane were still in the book with him as supporting cast members.
