Keeping it simple:

Nick Fury Sr. hasn't been used for nearly a decade. Why did no one cry foul ALL THIS TIME? Why such faux outrage now that Nick Fury Jr. is being introduced? Fury Sr. isn't being replaced. He's going to be used more NOW than he has in near a decade! Why such hate fanboys? Explain.

While this now makes 3 threads on this topic at least, Fury HAS been used for the past decade. He's been used a LOT, actually, in Brubaker's Captain America, in Avengers Secret Invasion tie-ins, in Secret Invasion, in his own series (Secret Warriors), in Winter Soldier, in the Defenders soon, etc... For some, myself included, I have always loved the character, no matter how little her was used, and the more he's used the better. It's just replacing a well-used character with a different character, and the way they did it, that seems kinda stupid.

Thankfully they're not getting rid of Fury Sr., so while we roll our eyes at this, at least we can still get our cranky old Nick in certain books.
