I'm glad X-O is getting so many positive reviews. I haven't received my X-O #1 yet but I'm very excited to read it. I hope Valiant lasts for years to come.

Not hard to find at all. It's on amazon.com for $16.47

Hmmm...when I was looking there weren't many to choose from. Must be hitting the market with the relaunch. I also bought new.

Yeah, that's more than likely what happened. They probably released more copies after the relaunch.

The $16.47 price is for new copies.

Damn...now I feel robbed...Valiant definitely didn't go back to print on it, but I bet a lot of sellers are pulling them out of the back to try and make some $$$ whereas they may have been forgotten for the last 2 years or so.

But, hey, it was worth it. I bought all three new trades (harbinger, archer & Armstrong, XO) and they are all awesome. They did a great job on the remastering, and the new stories added that little something extra. And with the rarity with most of those individual issues, it's probably the only way I would ever have a chance to read them (until they were released on Comixology this week).

Just read this review: http://www.examiner.com/review/aric-...it-x-o-manowar and I must say I'm fairly perplexed as to why he hated it so much. From the article,
Ten pages are spent just establishing that Aric’s Visigoth brethren were at war with the Romans. Another nine pass before Aric makes it to the spaceship where he is enslaved.
I don't think this was pointless exposition. It did more than establish they were at war, it explained the mentality and character of Aric. It also establishes the sentience of the armor and combined this makes us think that Aric may just be what the armor is looking for. It might have been doable in less pages, but who cares? The way it was done shows that Aric kicks some major ass even without any armor, just imagine what's going to happen once he get gets a hold of it!

This review just pisses me off...the comic deserves a 2-star rating just because he didn't don the armor in the first issue? Makes me question why this guy is writing reviews in the first place, but it's a free country I guess.

Yeah, this is the first negative review I have read and it doesn't quite make sense. Other reviews point out their disappointment in not seeing Aric in the Armor in the issue, but still gave it 4 stars because its a damn good book all around.

I don't see these types of reviews when Bendis takes 2 years to actually put together a team of Avengers, or when the Justice League doesnt appear as a group in the first issue of the flagship title of the relaunch of the melenium.

Got it yesterday and read it last night and didn't know what to expect. Ended up liking xo manowar a lot and I am on board for this universe until I see something terrible but I loved this first issue. Awesome art inside and a cool cover and fun writing so I'm on board for it!

Just decided I'd chime in with some notes on X-O #1 via Valiant...

First off, I loved the story of the Roman's battling at the beginning and the death of Aric's father which led up to Aric and his friends being captured later by the alien looking things worshiping the armor. It was just pretty damn awesome, but equally as awesome was the tight art in this book.....I seriously wasn't expecting a whole lot since I was iffy on the preview pages at first. Luckily the art was very satisfying and the story has hooked me into the next issue (and beyond), I hope we get to see what was going on with the baby switch in a later issue, that really had me take a double take and now I MUST know what the heck that was all about.

I tip my hat to cary Nord and his awesome art style in the first issue I loved it and the story. I think valiant is off to a huge start and Aric is a great and fearless hero to kick it all off for Valiant!

That is a sick cover...maybe that should have been the original cover, then you might not see as m any complaints about Aric not being shown in the armor...it also would have made for some nice surprises to any new readers to XO.

Why is the second print way better than the first?

I think the main cover for the first should have been the awesome cover to the Valiant 2012 FCBD guide, that was one of the best covers I've seen in comics for quite some time. I like the regular cover they used for X-O #1 and I had the feeling we wouldn't see the main hero in all his garb right off the bat, usually it takes couple of issue before all is settled and the hero is in his costume when it comes to new releases. So I was ready for it.
