I like Ultimate Comics. - Read them with us!

I've posted on these boards quite a few times since I joined up last June, as you can see from my numbers, but last night I think I put up the three longest posts I've ever had on here, by a long shot. Most of my posts were four or five sentences tops, so I never really had to consider how it would actually look on the screen. Wolverine(sorry I don't remember the number) wrote something about a big wall of words, and it's an apt description. I've been going back and editing my posts to break them up a bit and make them easier to read, and I shall do so from the start in the future. Thanks for your time, True Believers! Excelsi...ah damnit. I started daydreaming that I was Stan Lee while I was typing again. See? This is how my mind works.
The Amazing Spider-Man, Avenging Spider-Man, Venom, Scarlet Spider, Daredevil, Avengers, New Avengers, Secret Avengers, Avengers Academy, Thunderbolts, Fantastic Four, FF, All Ultimate

2000-2006: Golden Age of the UU
2007-2009: Age of Loebotomy
2009-2011: Post-Ultimatum Era
2011-????: Silver Age of the UU
For the last few issues, since Thor ended his rampage in the city, virtually every member of the Ultimates has spent more page-time as an observer than an active agent, with the possible exception of Falcon and the Hulk. I don't think it's especially surprising that Hickman has favored high concepts over character moments, since that has been his MO on virtually everything he's done. He's better at writing polities and institutions than people, give or take Valeria Richards.
It's true that New Ultimates gave more scenes to female team-members, but the book's attempts at girl-power seemed thoroughly hamstrung by cheese-cake visuals and character arcs that empowered them according to a cartoonishly low standard. Valkyrie's big thing is that she doesn't need Thor?
I liked how Hickman sets up the cliffhanger to this issue. That was a big surprise for me.
Just read this last night... INCREDIBLE! I wonder how much exactly that bomb at the end wiped out. All of Washington DC? Maryland? Great stuff. I just love Reed in this story. Even though he's the villain I find myself rooting for Reed. Like when I saw the City all tore up from the nukes, I actually felt bad and I was really impressed with his calm yet extremely violent retaliation. Two things: 1.) How quick can they rebuild? 2.) Reed didn't have a plan to stop an assault like this? He had to know that when desperate enough that the US would throw every nuke they had at him. Granted, it only took out a small percentage of the City, but I just can't see an advanced race of humans getting hit by something, that would be by their standards, so primitive.
Reed is definitely the US's most wanted, which makes me wonder what in the world could Kitty Pryde do that makes her the most wanted terrorist in the US?
I wouldn't be so sure of that. This is Reed Richards, the king of adapting, we're talking about here. Zorn will not be able to use his black hole power as effectively the next time they meet. Reed will figure out a way to collapse this black hole before it causes too much damage. However, we haven't seen what Xorn can do yet and now I'm really intrigued to see after seeing what his brother did.
Pull List: Uncanny X-Men, All-New X-Men, Ultimates, New Avengers
