What's hilarious about having Ultimate Hawkeye and Ultimate Fury in 616 is the juxtaposition created by seeing them side by side with Head-Wings-And-Big-Folded-Over-Boots Cap, What-Are-Those-Wrist-Things Black Widow, And Skeleton-Mask-And-Cape Taskmaster.

Typical pandering BS and its the reason why I kind of have a dislike for people who go see comic movies but don't read them. If is wasn't for these comics there would be no Avengers for all these people to see. Marvel should have just stuck with trying to advertise the ultimate universe to movie goers as it is newer and probably eaiser.

I really hope Sam Fury fades into obscurity. He has completely ruined the character.

That's hilarious. Although I actually am not bothere by Fury, Jr. Honestly, I think it's understandable and it doesn't really bother me so long as they don't kill off classic Fury. I mean, honestly, Fury hasn't really been involved in SHIELD in years and hasn't had much contact with the greater MU in a while, so I think it's a bit silly to be mad that he's getting "replaced." I think it would have beem simpler to just put the classic Fury back into his old position and make him a bigger part of the MU, but if they wanted to find a way to use the movie version in the comics---which, again, I think is understandable---I think "Nick Fury, Jr." is pretty simple and easy to grasp.

It's a little obvious, but I think it works.

Default And now we know who are the fake fans of Hickman

The replacement of Nick Fury with his son is the crowning conclusion of a story largely written by none other than Hickman working in coordination of Bendis. Anyone who doesn't know this is neither a true fan of Hickman nor of his work in Ultimates.

It was Hickman who in Secret Warriors explained exactly why Nick Fury's time had come and gone and why it was time for him to leave, for a new generation to take over. Anyone who didn't read this is neither a fan of Hickman nor of his work in Ultimates. The action in Secret Warriors is in conjunction with Hickman's work in S.H.I.E.L.D., the first volume of which is a masterpiece like no other in recent Marvel 616 lore.

In Hickman's Marvel chronology, there are at least 3 ages, the first age begun by Imhotep and lasting into approximately the middle of the 20th century, with S.H.I.E.L.D. secretly protecting humanity but eventually being torn asunder by the dispute between Leonardo da Vinci and Isaac Newton over whether humanity could use this knowledge to advance, the second age the Cold War era where S.H.I.E.L.D. was led by Nick Fury, and the third beginning now, a new age. The product of the Second World War and of the Cold War, Nick Fury is by nature someone who can only understand us vs them, the imperative of defeating the ultimate evil that justifies almost any means necessary. As it turned out, Fury and his brother were pulling all the strings in the second age. But the third age will be different, it will be an age where cooperation across nations will be required, and thus one man cannot take it into his head to unilaterally decide what must be done. The era of cowboys is over, which is why Fury's time has come to an end.

Interesting to know i somehow become a non-fan because i don't appreciate the bullshit Marvel hired Christopher Yost to write.

They could have just went over to DC and grabbed Lois Lane's "Black Machine"

All and all, black Nick Fury is Marvel's FAVORITE invention. It's no suprise that they'd find SOME way to slip him into the comics. I guess this way, they still have white Nick Fury around so everyone wins?

LMFAO!!!^ people in the library are prolly wondering why I'm laughing so hard. WTF tho honestly lol. Black machine

Honestly I'm tired of seeing Fury Jr. It just makes me go "wait a minute, this isn't in the ultimate universe! oh wait I forgot they stole ultimate fury and made a craptacular story describing his origins"

I don't like the idea as much as I first did, but it still really doesn't bother me that much. Not as much as Asgardians at least
