1) Find a bad guy
2) Be Wolverine
Ultimate Wolverine is coming back, sort of!
That's a very fair point, although something absolutely amazing would have to happen in AvX to make it rise above Ultimate War.
Don't bother reading Ultimate War you won't like it. I'll give you three reasons
1) Millar is the writer
2) It has a lot of Ultimate Wolverine stabbing people and being generally bad ass
3) The X-Women are taken out immediately.
You may enjoy Colossus kicking both Thor and Iron Man's ass, as well as both Black Widow and Wasp being very effective.

I'm very fond of Ultimate War, the first Ultimate comic I read =)
Also: Wow, I didn't expect this issue to be such a hot topic heh, glad I made it now =P I'll read few all the posts before editing this to reply properly
edit: I think I'm most offended by the obviousness of the move. Bringing back characters from an upcoming film or putting greater emphasis on them makes sense. Iron Man's armour taking cues from the film makes sense. Doing something as blatantly obvious as giving Nicky Fury a son, who looks identical to Ultimate Fury is just silly, I think they could've at least just given him like a tech-eyepatch, rather than losing an eye; something like Old Snake's Solid Eye from MGS4, that way they get the look without the contrived eye injury. (Though I concur with the "Steve Rogers' SHIELD uniform is badass" sentiment =P). However, I can't say I'm surprised, frankly it's taken longer than expected, I mean Ultimate Fury, or a variation thereof is used in pretty much ALL the cartoons now, so it was only logical they'd eventually move him into the comics. I think adding Coulson is an ok move for a number of spoilery reasons I won't divulge, but Nick Fury Jr. is just facepalmingly strange. Why not just make a longer movie tie-in line?
Please be trolling...>.< people are angry 616 is stealing our Fury, not that he's black. Most of the people here love Ultimate Fury and are annoyed he's being pilfered.

Ultimate Fury was always our little inside joke, for lack of better terms; most Ultimate Comics fans were aware of Fury's resemblance to Sam Jackson and that Jackson himself even liked and approved of that likeness. It was one of the "little things" that made being an Ultimate fan special. Now with the real Sam Jackson in the movies, and the likeness spread across the cartoons and even the mainstream comics, that "little thing" doesn't seem so special anymore. Like having a favorite secret secluded fishing spot that you can call your own and then word of its location gets out and suddenly you aren't alone anymore. It's less special.

It just occurred to me that there are in fact 3 main Marvel Continuities: Mainstream Universe, Ultimate Universe and Cinematic Universe.
It makes sense to have the Cinematic Universe be a hybrid of the other two, but it makes no sense to have the other two copy from each other. Well, the UU gets to copy from 616 because that's sort of it's schtick, so long as it puts its own twist on it. 616 shouldn't be copying anything from the UU. That's what the Cinematic Universe is for.

Um...I'm actually kind of happy. Now all they need to do is adapt Miles Morales into 616 and kill of the REAL Peter Parker. Finally, we might have a young Spider-Man in the Marvel Universe again. I think they need to make another universe and try to rewrite Peter's story with a Miles story as well. But that's just me, probably. I would read it. I just hope they don't copy exactly what the Ultimate Universe would be like.
Life has its own share of twists and turns. Pick friends who are willing to keep you on the roller coaster.
I have now seen The Avengers (UK resident ;D) and Fury is very Ultimate in it, there's a lot of the same humour and grey morality/ manipulation we see in the comics. Also plenty of the badass side too. The shade of grey might not be as dark as Ultimate Fury, but it's definitely there. Fury fans won't be disappointed =)
