I really like both books but I went with Superboy, mostly because it's impressed me. I expected Animal Man to be a great book, and it has been. I didn't expect Superboy to be anywhere near as enjoyable as it has been. It's been a very pleasant surprise.

Animal Man. No question for me. I dropped Superboy after the 3rd issue. Again, I'm not a Superman fan.

Superboy has been a great title so far. Even if I didn't like Lobdell's take on the eponymous character, his Rose totally wins me over. Shame this one is so lopsided. Animal Man strikes me as pretty lame.

It should be perfectly clear... for those with good taste.

    No, it isn't weird.

Some people aren't in to the dark and graphic violence of books like Animal Man . . . hell, even the artist on that book had to request a change in assignments because it was too depressing for him right now!

Wow, this one's DONE. You guys have been busy overnight (Aussie time).

Animal Man to face either Batman or Swamp Thing in the quarters (for all I know, one of them's got a big lead there by now too).

I haven't read either of these but I feel like I need to read Animal Man. Voted Animal Man because of all the positive things I have heard.

Haha, why would someone vote who has read neither book, just because you heard one of them is good? How depressing would it be if a substantial number of the votes for Animal Man are from people who haven't even read it, and are just voting because of the hype? Ridiculous.

I've always thought that something being hyped makes some people inflate their own feeling of how much they liked it and jump on the hype bandwagon, and that part of the popularity of Animal Man is due to that (i.e. some of the people voting for it are overrating it for that reason, but at least they've read it.) But to actually vote for it in a poll when you haven't read the book is to take that mentality to a whole other level.

Sometimes, it's a case of "which would you be more interested in trying / reading?"

IMO, people are perfectly free to vote for whatever the hell they like. Regardless of whether they actually read the book or not.
