Huh? I didn't think I was lecturing you, or being contentious; in fact, I didn't even think I was necessarily contradicting anything you stated. I'm not saying that Azz would necessarily write the kind of story that Dr. Hurt mentioned--I just found it interesting, and worth mentioning, that a lot of things you mentioned that you value in previous struck me as very similar to what I like about this run. And some of them aren't being talked about as much as the more controversial choices.
They don't affect it. I basically agree with you about that, especially if you put "most" in front of "long-term fans." And maybe I should have said so--it's just that I was intrigued by the fact that we like some of the same things about different runs, so that's the part of your post that I was eager to respond to. It may not have been squarely on your point, but it seemed relevant enough to bring up, especially since you were talking about finding common ground.I don't see how your comments affect my view that the idea long-term fans want a humorless perfect Diana is a complete and totally uninformed fallacy.
Ok...my vision is fine, too, but there are a lot of perspectives in arguments and interpretations that are harder for me to see than some others. For example, I didn't see how my post would offend you. In particular, it never occurred to me that "hard to see" would come across as condescending, but it sounds like it did, so I'm sorry about that.Oh, and my vision is fine.
