    Maybe we should start.

    Interesting things I noticed:

    - The man Lobo was attacking was one of the leaders of Ralasia(don't know if I spelled it right) from last season episode "Targets" (are they still under Luthor/Ghul's control?)
    - The Reach is recognized by the Kroloteans as a threat
    - The "House of El" is recognized as a threat on Rann
    - Adam Strange works for STAR (possible Vic & Kori show up later in the series)

They're probably the ones pulling the strings once again even with the aliens. Vandal Savage probably used the 6 JL members to wreck havoc on other planets in that 16 hours. We know the Light used some Boom Tubes, so Apokolips may be affiliated. They may have even been the ones that hired Lobo. I would love if Darkseid just came along and made the Light members his bitches.

And what are the missing members up to?

If I had to guess, I would say that Wally is in retirement. Something happened and he became disillusioned with the hero thing. So he's sitting at home living a normal life. Im going to guess that whatever the event was, its tied to Artemis' fate. Sometime fairly soon, he'll be brought back into the fold. I also suspect, as many do, that he will become the new Flash. He had more family moments than anyone else on the show last season (except maybe Artemis) so his taking up the mantle would carry more emotional resonance than it would for most others.

Everyone seems to think Aqualad has gone rogue. I dont read interviews so I am just sort of running with what I have read here, but looking at the Manta armor he's been seen in, I think there could be some merit to it. What I guess happened is that a decision was made to put a spy into the Society's ranks, using their own tactics against them. Aqualad is actually a fairly good choice for it too. Yes, he's honorable and switching sides would cause suspicion. But he's smart and level headed. If he could sell the con, he'd be embraced quicker than the rest of the team due to his honorable nature. He is not the sort to lie, after all, and should he learn that his peers and mentors dont live up to his own ethical standings...So my guess is that he's been spying on the Society, slowly earning their trust. Most of the League and team wouldnt know it either, so any run-ins they had would really sell the betrayal. Personally I hope to see him beat the snot out of Lagoon Boy. However, if this turns out to be false, I figure he's working with Red Arrow, looking for the real Roy.

As for Artemis...I really dont know. I cant see her honestly switching sides and returning to her family. And I cant see her being a spy either, as they sort of burned that bridge last season. Perhaps she was injured and forced to leave the team. Perhaps she's still with the team and just off on assignment, or working with Red Arrow to hunt down the real Roy. Might be dead, might be doing the solo hero thing. I suppose I would place my bet on her working with Roy to hunt down the real Roy though. That somehow seems to fit.

So we may have a team member in retirement, one a spy, and one on a separate assignment.

I know some folks are p!ssed we didnt see everyone in this opening episode, but be patient. We will.

I don't believe they would do a 5 year jump, setting up all these mysteries, without any plans on revisiting what happened over the course of the missing 5 years.

I think Ill add here, yay positivity.

Things I liked about the episode.

Lagoon boy, I freakin love Lagoon boy, He's the polar opposite of Aqualad in terms of looks and personality, I completely forgot that Kaldur wasnt even around. I love that he's voiced by yuri lowenthal and his name is Lagann, I know it wont happen, but I really want to hear him say "Who the hell do you think I am?"

Blue beetle was really great as well, arguing with his armor, I thought the spanglish was a little over the top, but I can deal with it, hopefully they'll explore a little more with the reach.

I am interested in seeing the relationship between Beast Boy and Megan, he wouldnt have gotten his powers if it weren't for her, and he thinks of her as an older sister, makes me wonder how martians handle the concept of a family.

I hope that Dick and Zatanna are an item, that would be really cool instead of pairing him up with Barbara it's a different universe, I don't want "go-to" pairings.

Part of me hopes that Kyle Rayner will show up sometime, preferably in an episode with Blue Beetle, so the conflict between the green lanterns and the reach can be explored further.

I still want to see legionairres, they probably will in a future (ha ha!) episode.

I think all three are connected.

Darkseid has been referenced a few times. The Forever People, Dessad, the Super-Cycle, now Godfry....and who better for a season long invasion than Darkseid? I've figured he would be the big bad since they announced that the second season was one long alien invasion. And his usual MO is to move slowly and tear a society apart from within, sowing seeds of mistrust and fear. I would bet money that he's the one who has been behind it all the whole time.

The Kroloteans and whatever other alien races we end up seeing are likely conquered people doing Darkseid's will. John Stewart knew who they were, but I could believe that Darkseid could corrupt an entire race without anyone else noticing. The show will try to sell them as the main threat, only to later hit us with the fact that they're just the first wave, with Apokolips following.

And we have the Light. Was Savage really the one in control, or was he just another pawn of Darkseid's? I think Savage has been aware and in contact with Apokolips for a long time, and has been the primary tool used on earth up to this point.

Who hired Lobo? I would bet its someone working against Apokolips. Highfather? The New Gods always work through "local" agents before involving themselves personally. We see Lobo now, and he looks like the bad guy, hunting down people. But it would be a fun twist if he was actually working on the side of the angels. Not because he's a dude like that, but because they paid him. We might see him switch sides a couple times, as various forces each pay for his services.

The missing sixteen hours.....I think the Leaguers were used to collect Zeta technology, at the very least. With those particular heroes, and more than half a day, they could have easily taken whatever resources were needed and sown terror and dissent among Rann. Earth and Rann are both essential to the villain's master plan for whatever reason, so making sure the two planets are at odds only helps the bad guys. I also sort of suspect that Savage was also taken to Rann and a decoy was used in his place on earth for the aftermath. When Adam Strange talked about meeting the Rannian scientist, we never saw who he was. I think it was Savage.

I think this episode cleared up that the Light's actions are still being felt 5 years later... and the previews have confirmed(read: spoiled) that The Light is still active

I'm going to assume it's propaganda to belittle the League, since Glorious Godfrey is a villain from Apokalips in the comics.

I don't know anyone on The Light would hire Lobo, has to be someone new... my guesses: Lady Styxx or maybe Mongul

I do wish the JL would be more effectual than what they seem to be now. Even when the Light was supposedly defeated in the end of Season 1 they had a victory enough to be impacting the heroes 5 years later.

I have a feeling this season is going to lead to either Darkseid or Brainiac

It's not the house of El they don't like but Superman himself, because of the league's members (Superman, Batman ect) who were being controlled.

It's just not the same without Brad Garrett.
