Wow, the time skip seems to be bigger than we thought. Seems the non-Dick Grayson-Robin theorists were right. Kinda hope that the Robin is Jason Todd instead of Tim Drake (although I realize the choice of the Bo staff makes it unlikely) and he does not get passed over like he did in B:TAS (of course arguably that Tim Drake's origins and character was more like Jason Todd's backstory than Tim Drake's).

If the skip's long enough then it's possible Jason had his time off-screen. I mean, look how old Dick looks in that pic, and how much taller he is. He's got to be at least three to five years older.

True; one interesting aspect is that Superboy and Miss Martian seem to have aged slower than Dick. M'gann is explained because Martians just age slower than humans, but with Superboy perhaps they are incorporating some of the does-not-age continuity (or just ages slowly) from the comics?

I remember hearing somewhere that they wanted Dick to become Nightwing when he was about 19, so if that's the case were looking at LEAST a 5 year time skip. Jason Robin would be fun to see

Looks like Greg Weisman's original statement that Season 2 would "in essence" continue directly from Season 1 was a bit of misdirection without technically lying.

Batgirl. I expect to see Babs, who we saw briefly in her civilian ID, to show up, but not much more than that. We already have Robin and getting too deep into Batman's long list of sidekicks....I just dont see the show going there. A cameo or two, and thats about it. This goes for Flamebird as well.

1. The name "Batgirl" is a sidekick name, not necessarily the character, but simply the copyrighted name implies sidekick.

2. This is Earth-16 and a different continuity Babs maybe more directly supervised by Batman.

Back on subject with the show, who would like to see a YJ version of the Birds Of Prey for one ep? Black Canary could be taking some of the current female YJ'ers including Batgirl on a field trip of sorts, and it goes from there?

I am not doing that "why didn't they call her BatWOMAN" argument. I am arguing from a commercial/name copyright perspective only not a character/story perspective, even the name "Batwoman" implies sidekick/derivative-character in my argument.
