So Nightwing and Kaldur were working in this plan together, when things looked bad it was Nigthwing's mess, when it worked out it is Kaldur's triumph.... that's cute.

Over all this show turn out to be a big disappointment. Can't believe that Wally appears in the two last episodies to get his girfriend and die latter. And the Light pretty much won. Just awesome.

Exactly! Glad someone else sees that.

Honestly, Dick didn't really come off as an effective leader this season. He played his part in leading people on about the secret mission, although clearly didn't account for Ms. martian or notice her psychosis which almost proved to be fatal for Kaldur. So I'd put some blame on him for that. Other than that we didn't see much out of Dick from a leadership perspective. He just took the information Kaldur was feeding him and used it accordingly.

Season 1 Dick looked like he had all the makings of a great leader. Tactically he seemed to be a superior strategist to Kaldur and better at adapting to changing situations, in terms of himself anyway. However, he was young and would leave guys to do their own thing instead of issuing orders. The show kind of made the excuse that Dick was the natural leader, but was too young. in fact Kaldur practically said so verbatim in episode 4, which is why he took up the reigns. Ironically, when we get to season 2 and see Dick is finally in control the show fails to show us why he is a good leader, he actually comes off as a bad leader at times.

Kaldur's the one who usually had to make the tougher choices and was the one left taking the flack from Batman or his teammates. For the issues the team had this season Ms. Martian and Nightwing didn't really get much flack from anyone cause everything happened to work out okay in the end.

And as I said earlier certain dramatic situaitons seemed to resolve themselves very easily.

-Kaldur recovering from brain damage. We get the episode of Ms. Martian starting to heal him. Next thing we know he is back to normal like nothings ever happened no trauma. Like it wasn't even a big deal like he'd just been punched or something.
-The team realizing Artemis was alive. We got Beast Boy hugging her. Didn't even realize they were that close, but thats about all the reaction we got.
-Wally's death. And it was super rushed at the end. Almost don't see why they would kill him off. Obviously he was suppose to come back through the speed force next season, but his death still feels rushed and wasted.
-Nightwing and Ms. Martian's guilt fest. Just felt shoehorned in to give us some closure to their shortcomings this season. Instead of giving us any true development. Thought it was a little lazy. I hope they were forced to do it because the show got cancelled and they were actually planning to go deeper with these two.
-The lack of resolution to Ms. Martians actions. They built it up and than instead of showing her learning or turning it around its just simply forgotten.

those wer probably my big issues with this season. That and Wally pretty much getting shafted most of the season. not to mention it was obvious Kaldur was a double agent, but this wasn't revealed to the whole team for several episodes. I mean the foreshadowing was pretty blatant Ms. MArtian was going to fry Kaldur's mind, I was just hoping they were going to do more with it after.

This is also a problem I have with some main stream comic writers. A hero does something bad or makes a mistake than instead of showing them dealing with it overcoming or atoning for what they have done, tis just swept under the rug or forgotten. Marvel comics has been doing this a lot over the last few years.

This finale left me pissed off, unsatisfied, sad, despondent and hungry for more; pretty the theme of this entire series for me. But that's okay cause in a recent interview about this show and its impending end, Greg Weisman said, "We had a plan from day one on this series, and we've stuck with it." And honestly, that's all I can ask of a creator in any medium.

Series finale felt rushed, with some stuff happening at the end (like the Tim and Cassie thing) where stuff they planned on developing with the 26 episodes they wanted, instead of the 20 they got.

I was praying they would end the show with closure. But they didn't. Now I'll forever wonder what will happen with Darkseid.

SERIOUSLY need a Kickstarter campaign for another season or at least a movie. Like Firefly, I need some closure here.

I hope that animation team sticks around to produce more DC movies, particularly the Justice League.

On a side note, I recall Black Manta telling Artemis that Kaldur had feelings for her. If that was true, I wonder if theat would have been explored in a season three.

What the hell does the Light have to gain from forming an alliance with Darkseid, anyway?

Remember, Savage isn't just in it for the Earth. He wants the entire Milky way.

Hell, M'Gann is implied to have been mind raping for a while at the start of season 2, probably when Aqualad was still leader. You can't fault either of them for those problems. Being a leader doesn't make them omniscient.

And Dick's plans ultimately worked. There were complications, of course, but none due to his stupidity. Let's look at the cause and effect of the problems encountered:
Lagoon Boy was abducted? His own fault, ignored orders.
Mount Justice was blown up and more team members were abducted? Kaldur had to get the info on Lagann's location some how, and he only got in because Impulse acted stupidly and didn't contact Dick about their being attacked.
Miss Martian mindrapes Kaldur, hurting the mole plan? M'Gann's fault for being an idiot; Superboy's fault for not telling anyone; Kaldur, Dick, Artemis and Wally's fault for keeping it a secret from senior team members to begin with.
Green Beetle puts Blue on mode? Nightwing had him vetted, but didn't know that M'Gann (apparently the most powerful telepath ever) didn't actually do it.
Team captured on War World? Nobody realized BB had been put on mode

Aside from that, there were no problems. Everything went fairly well, actually. And Dick had the disadvantage of having little League support, and more autonomy. Kaldur got assignments from the League for the most part. Dick had to make his own plans and missions. Kaldur was definitely a better field leader than Dick, but we've never seen him have to deal with the more tactical problems that Dick had.

Ultimately, though, I'm glad he stepped down and is taking a break from the Team. Now that the invasion and mole operations are dealt with, a more classical field leader like Kaldur will excel more so than Dick would. And I don't really know what fallout there is to deal with. Aliens gone? Check. Light taken care of? Not entirely done, but it's been six years and they've been a problem the whole time. Seriously, what major problems does Kaldur have to deal with, other than explaining to the League what happened (though I didn't like how Bruce asked him and not Dick)? All their running operations and threats have been taken care of. The whole team has been through a lot lately, and if Dick feels he can handle it better by taking a break, that seems reasonable; people grieve differently. Some people, like Artemis or myself, dive into work. Some people need to just get away for a while.
Agreed. The only thing that I would say that Dick did that was "incompetent" was letting a loose cannon like Roy on the team and turn a blind eye to his antics until he nearly got everyone killed. With that, Dick was very much aware of what he was dealing with from the start, but didn't intervene until everything had already escalated.

I also find it ironic that Dick is getting blamed for the stuff M'Gann pulled when Connor was fully aware and didn't say a word.

Sometimes I want more League/Team interactions but then they happen and they just leave me feeling blah. Like at the end when Batman was telling the Team that they deserved to work from the Watchtower now....Really Batman? So they didn't deserve that from saving your and the League's butts from the first season? Sure guys...just walk away, and let the Jr. members do all of the real work when it comes to saving the world, again.

Yeah he's gonna get stomped when he tries to backstab Darkseid.

Or he would if we had more.

Maybe they have already been infected by the YJ version of the anti life equation and are behaving irrationally because of it?
