Default *nods* Classic Hulk Hogan VS Brock Lesnar

Classic Hulk Hogan (the one that slammed Andre I guess) comes to the future and challenges Brock Lesnar, whenever his prime was, to a match in front of all of his hulkamaniac. How does he do against "the next big thing"?

    I'd say Hogan beats him.

Brock's good, but I don't think he was ever in that Hogan/Andre/Goldberg/Undertaker type mould whereby he was absolutely invincible, even amongst elite competition.

That's Brock's downfall I think. As well as not really being around for that long, he wasn't in fantastic company when he was dominating WWE.

Plus, Brock's schtick during his dominant period was to quickly obliterate people, so he never really took a big move from a huge star and carried on fighting.

Prime Hogan, as a babyface, with the Hulkamaniacs behind him, was pretty much impossible to put down. He certainly wouldn't be a "quick win" for Brock, and so it's gonna go the distance at worst for Hogan, and if Brock is lucky enough to get his big move (F-5) in first, Hogan is likely to just kick out and land a leg drop. Brock, not being notorious for kicking out of "big moves", would be out for the count (yeah, I know it's only a leg drop, but it's Hogan's).

Hogan would win because Vince wanted it that way. In a real fight, Brock tears Hogans arms off and beats him to death with them. This is why I hate these wrestling matchups. No ever says "in a real fight". It's all just wrestling Kayfabe and in Kayfabe it's what the promoter wants to happen that determines who wins and loses.

You might as well complain that no one ever really wins in comic book fights, its all up to the writer. Which is true but useless commentary here.

See I don't get this issue. And I know a lot of people have the same problem as you.

Something about wrestling makes people forget that they're actually just actors.

I mean, I'm sure Jet Li could kick the crap out of Tom Welling, but if Yu Law ever met Clark Kent in a live action crossover, no one would expect Jet Li's Law to win.

Or, a less extreme example, by virtue of being a boxer and much younger, Tarver would annihilate Stallone in real life, yet an ageing Rocky gave Dixon a decent scrap, because of the way it was written (i.e. the Vince McMahon role). But no one complains about that.

Wrestlers should be treated like any other fictional character. Take them to be actors taking the role of a character, then take their consistent high-end feats.

I really don't see why such a big deal is made of it. They could literally be treat as characters in a comic.

What is Hogans best consistent wrestling feat?

Probably being WWF Champion for 4 years in the 1980's and unbeaten for longer.

I moreso mean, for example, he show consistent "I can body slam Andre the Giant" strength? Or did it just happen once?

Well... he could only do that when he went up against Andre, so it's kinda hard to do that consistently.

After Hulking up against Earthquake, he managed to slam him.

And he's slammed Big Show. Though he wasn't in his 80's prime at the time, obviously.

He slammed Andre at least 3 times that I know of. He was also functionally immune to submission moves because of his power, and could take any finisher at least once without really leaving his feet.

Except Yokuzuna. Even Hulking up couldn't save him.

He also slammed Yokozuna unless my memory's gone.

Slamming large people was kind of Hulk's thing.

Superplex while standing on the second turn buckle is actually a good deal lower strength feat than both wrestlers standing on the mat, the guy's higher than you and leaning forward, meaning you have much better leverage.

How are their two "dur in real life the well known MMA fighter beats the life long fake wrestler" posts in the same thread? Seriously no shit Lesnar wins in real life. Pro Wrestlers are hybrid body builder/actor/stuntmen, while many(and honestly more than likely most if not all) of them have some back ground in amateur wrestling or something similar, its a no brainer that a top rate heavy weight MMA fighter is going to level them. This is obviously not that kind of match if you'd bother reading the OP.

JCall, you do know you're replying to a spambot, right?

"Janet92" just auto-copied-and-pasted one of Howard Allan's comments.

Also.... all this talk of Hogan slamming Andre etc; does Brock F5-ing Big Show not warrant some comment?
