OK, so not only have I had to deal with the car alarm going off every night (it's getting later every night as well) which has meant I haven't been getting enough sleep before my day job, but on Friday night some guy across the road from me starts smashing up his windows at 3am. He was making this huge banging noise and then there was smashing glass, and then more banging where he was throwing things out of the smashed window and down the metal fire escape steps. Some guy came out and shouted at him to stop, but he didn't. So then the blue flashing lights show up, and there are four coppers on the fire escape trying to get him to come to the window to talk to them, and three more searching the yard with torches. The copper at the top of the stairs manages to get the guy to come to the window, and he looks wasted and his knuckles are all bloody from the window smashing. The copper is asking to see his passport and his driving licence, and the guy starts passing him framed photos and CDs out of the window. I think he'd had a bust up with his gf and was telling the police his sob story. Eventually they left and told him to go to bed. By this time it was 5am and the sun was coming up, so I pretty much gave up on sleep. I'm beginning to think my area is not the healthiest one to live in.

Also, last night I went back to the club I used to work in for the first time. I think my ex bf's dad was in there. That was a little bit awkward to say the least. And I'm woefully unfit. I ache all over today, which has combined with the lack-of-sleep headache to make me feel like death >_<

I like my flat. It's big and has enough room for all of my shit and also for my cat. It's also cheap as chips for what it is. The other guy I was thinking about moving in with hasn't been in touch, and his area would be worse. It would just be really nice if the other people around here would have some damn consideration

Sorry to hear that ,Ro. On the risk of sounding cliche and obvious, have you thought about investing in earmuffs or noise cancelling ear buds?

I haven't. I suppose I could try. I can imagine they'd limit my sleeping too. Everything limits my sleeping nowadays. Oh well, at least I don't have to go to a proper 9-5 job, theoretically I can catch up on what I need whenever I can get it.

Still amused by the ex's dad being in the club though. I sure as hell wasn't going to ask if it was definitely him, though one of the other girls said I should send a spy in to subtly find out. And since no one outside of Cres knows I was there I can't get this out of my system by telling anyone else, so you guys have the brunt of my semi-embarrassment here

Can you take a natural sleep aid to help you relax and drift off to sleep? Melatonin is pretty good. It's all natural and non addictive.

I've tried all types of pills. They don't work. The last ones just upped my anxiety so much I thought I was going to have a heart attack
