I think they talk about it in part 2, part 1 they toss each others salad.
I was extremely disappointed by the lack of tossed salads

I always figured it was better that the Joker laid low after the face thing. I never understood why everyone expected him to return the next issue, or at the end of the Doll Maker arc, or the one after that or etc. It was obvious his return would be something big and unexpected, and that takes time to build up. Why would he go through all the trouble of having someone cut his face off to re-appear the page afterwards?

So, I'm thinking the face off in 'Tec, was actually put there for Snyder's second arc. It's starting to seem more and more likely the Joker will be the second villain in Batman. Also, could the Joker have been the character he was fighting corporate to let him maim?

The Joker without a face is still an image that creeps me out...I forgot that one was not resolved.

Thanks a lot Vill! Never saw that before, so that's fantastic to know! I'm pretty excited about this upcoming arc then. It's been so long since the Joker's been the main villain in a story, and I know Scott Snyder can write him extremely well.
