Default Did the Joker know About the Owls?

I keep remembering how Joker told Batman he was 'too busy looking at him to look at the bigger picture' in Detective # 1. And with the Owls going after influential figure in Gotham... including the Penguin.... I guess cause he's a major crime boss or whatever...? did the Joker have his face cut off and go into hiding cause he knew he'd be a potential target?

Interesting idea, but unfortunately I doubt T Daniels had that sort of foresight or planning and instead just wanted Joker without a face 'just because'

I dunno. It could be. There's that thing where the writers are trying to maintain cohesion and continuity across all books, so maybe. If Daniel knew what Snyder had in mind, then yeah, the face-removal could have been inspired by that.

If he did, I can't imagine he'd care about them.

Yeah, I doubt the Joker would care enough about the Owls to even notice them, similarly to how they didn't care enough about Batman to notice him.

Certainly, the Joker wouldn't be scared of them at all, and wouldn't go in to hiding from them.

Nah, just something Tony Daniel was thinking up for his own comic. Hell, Tony wasn't even going to be apart of the crossover till he noticed most of the writers were apart of it. If you ask me, I think the guy just wants his book to the big Bat one ha ha. He's probably hating all the love Snyder is getting!

Hmm... I don't think so, but the next arch might have the joker involved.

Oh good, we're throwing around baseless accusations about Tony Daniel as a person now. Because all the vitriol he currently receives just wasn't enough.

It's all in good fun, I should have put a smiley or something. I wasn't really being serious with that post guys. But I do think the only reason that book is in the top 10 just because of the name.

I'd love to see the Joker face off with one of those annoying owl people and give them the what for. The best part of RIP was when he took Hurt and those black glove elites down a major peg.

Then how come Detective comics was never anywhere near the top ten before Daniel's took over, if its name alone puts it in the top ten? Next you'll tell me Aquaman is only in the top ten because of the name.

Snyder said that him and Daniels were coordinating their Joker stories so the two titles would converge together, and he made it sound like they were both discussing what to do with the Joker from the very beginning. I don't know if the face off has anything to do with the owls since they said they weren't going to tackle the Joker story until the Owls storyline was finished.

Do you know where he said that? That'd be cool, and would also explain the absence of the Joker in Tec. for the last seven issues.

A lot of people knock on Tony Daniel, but I thought he characterized the Joker extremely well in his opening issue.

I think they talk about it in part 2, part 1 they toss each others salad.
