Then there was that drop off of only 49 orders (I think between issue 5 and 6?) and that certainly warranted making a claim of it having leveled off... but it wasn't. "Hemmoraging" however, seems kind of harsh by comparison across the board too. I'm certainly not going to go into a long essay regarding other reasons for (comics in GENERAL) dropping in sales, such as alternate entertainment sources for target demographics, but surely it must be taken into account. The whole industry is "Hemorrhaging" if you look at the big picture.

It would be a clue as to what is happening after seeing so many book stores like Borders and/or Barnes & Noble closing. Who the hell reads like they used to anymore?

Yes, it does seem like a harsh word to use - which, at the risk of speaking for him, is exactly why Brett used it (right Brett? ).

btw - He's referencing the word because of JMS' comments when he took over WW.

Ok. I figured he had an official use of the word. JMS is a fine one to talk about caring! He jumped the ship before the Amazons got to him in one of their murderous raids!

And speaking of those kinds of raids... I wonder if STD's ever made their way into Paradise Island after all this random raunchy and absent minded behavior by the Amazons.

Yes. But Azz's Amazons have a different name for STD's.

    They call them. 'Boys'.

I just read the first seven issues of WW, for the first time. (A friend lent them to me.) I don't really know WW's character, much at all, and this was definitely an enjoyable comic. I don't know if I will pull it, but I did enjoy what I read.

Tis true - the epic story that would save WW. JMS desctibed the book as bleeding out.

No. She doesn't seem powerful enough. I want WW to be on the level of Superman (pre-DCnU, I have no idea what Supes power levels are now), she seems like she's on the level of a low- mid-tier super hero. Maybe like a Hawkman. In JL, she was carrying a ship I think and flying, so that was cool but even there she seems weak.

Her character also doesn't seem like herself. I also like more inner dialogue and set-up boxes. More WRITING!!!

Sometimes I wonder about comic sales numbers. Given books are bought non-returnable, we aren't actually talking about numbers of books in readers hands, just what the shops have ordered. As such, readership could be quite stable and the changes are simply the comic book shops getting closer to the right ordering level.

For example, I only started WW at issue 7. I went and bought all the back issues so I have 1 through 8 now. So my purchase of issue one was already counted as a sale 8 months ago. That's hardly a true account of issue one sales at the time the numbers were announced.
