Seems like a strange choice but I've been surprised before so I guess you can never really tell.

That movie has already been done. It was called Hellboy and featured a cigar smoking, rough-and-tumble tough guy hunting down bounties and teaming with a young girl (and a fish man). It was even good enough that they made a sequel called Hellboy 2.

Pretty sure "Lobo" will not have a sequel. Or a fish man (lamentably).

Good God! So many more characters to run with and they choose Lobo?

    Utterly clueless.

I fragging love Lobo. But this sounds like it'll probably be a crappy flop. I mean, I could be wrong, I've been wrong before, and I'm not going to judge a movie before it has even been made. But there's nothing here to fill me with confidence.
Least that Paramilitary Christmas fan film was good.

In a perfect world? Ron Perlman. Hellboy was already mentioned, who is somewhat Lobo-ish, and Ron's in some motorcycle show I've never watched. He even has a voice that'd work great as Lobo I think.
But that's probably hoping for too much.
Other than him...hard to say. Not many actors could pull the look. Movie Lobo probably won't look like the comic come to life, unfortunately.

Andrew Bryniarski really wants to be him. you may remember him as Zanghief in the live-action Street Fighter, Chip Schreck in the Burton Batman film # 2, or Leatherface in the Texas Chainsaw Massacre remake.

Just looked him up. Looks like he played Lobo in some unofficial short where he goes after Santa Claus.

Reading that plot description, it's almost like DC is trying as hard as they can to make the worst movie possible!

Just make an R-Rated The Last Czarnian adaptation!

You know who could pull it off? Hollywood's current go-to giant body builder, Matthew Willig. Except no star power.

That, of this was the role Triple H was born for!

There's also always Tyler Mane, and he's been in stuff people may remember.
