Default THE BAT SIGNAL: Snyder & Higgins On "Night of The Owls" Grand Design

Nice interview. I think it's interesting that Snyder has received so many accolades from fans since the first issue, while lots of people have dumped on Higgins for the Nightwing storyline. Turns out the book opened as it did in order to tie in tightly to the Batman story.

Nice. I've enjoyed both books so far even though I had initial reservations about Saiko as a villain in Nightwing. I've since decided he wasn't as lame of a villain as I first thought and that he was actually an interesting character.

So many interviews and so much promotion for this. And it's just "zombie ninja vs the hero of each book". Yeah, as if Damian or Jason or Babs are going to die.

When will this be over? I get it, Owls Owls Owls. Batman freaked out that someone was hiding in Gotham all this time, doing nothing.

Yeah the idea of the Owls was pretty cool, but it's disappointing that the whole story just comes down to fighting an army of assassins.

    Interesting interview, as usual.

Didn't care for Snyder's admission that he wanted to retcon Alfred's father's name, Jarvis. Not that that specifically matters much, but he seems far too quick to retcon things. I very much like Morrison's way of retconning something where he works with it...more smoothing out and integrating than hey-let's-just-change-it-retconning. Thank you Mike Marts for actually putting your foot down.

DC discarded their history, and now has none. DC will always be in the shadows of their past work.

If you're referring specifically to the crossovers, other than this month's Nightwing, they all take place in the May issues.

I felt the same way, I knew there were hints with issue #1 that they would cross-over but then nothing really pointed to that afterwards, to the point that I just thought Saiko was almost a Talon ripoff, when I was reading #7 and saw how this had been planned from the beginning it made me so excited! There was a master plan all along!
