Default Gillen after Journey into Mystery *Speculation*

With all signs pointing to an ending for Journey into Mystery in the near future, where would you like to see Keiron Gillen next?

My top three choices would be:

    1) Namor with Stuart Immonen supported by Brian Ching - Gillen seems to be making a good impression with his Namor in Uncanny, so why not strike while the iron is hot? Immonen's just a phenomenal artist and few artists capture Namor's arrogance as effortlessly as he does. Brian Ching is a strong enough artist that I think he could be in rotation and not bring the quality of the book down by any great margin.

    2) Inhumans with Renato Guedes - With rumblings of an Inhumans film in the work, Marvel's most definitely going to revisit the Inhumans in print. I feel that Guedes art could definitely give it that otherworldly feel. Can't think of a secondary artist though.

    3) Captain Britain and MI13 with Olivier Coipel supported by Pascal Alixe - I think Marvel's missing something by not exploring the other corners of the Marvel Earth on a regular basis. MI13/Excalibur is probably the most prominent operation outside of North America. Coipel can definitely give it that epic scope (and a big name), and Alixe's art meshes fairly well with Coipel's.

As much as I would love (LOVE!!!) an Excalibur/MI13 series by those two creators I highly doubt Marvel would put two such high profilers on it.

I think he'd be an interesting choice for Avengers, post-Bendis.

Wishful thinking I know, but if they're going to go, Marvel needs to go big. It's important to ensure the viability of as many properties as they can and promote the longevity of the books. I'm just trying to give these books a chance. JiM is proving itself a cult hit, popular enough to be in everyone's top lists but not popular enough to hit issue 50. Coipel is one Marvel's biggest talents. I think with enough of a marketing push they could make MI13 at least a mid-40s seller.

I mean look at the quality of talent they put on Daredevil and Punisher, and at $2.99 no less. Sure Rivera, Martin and Chechetto aren't superstars, but they're all phenomenal artists in their own right.

Honestly, I wouldn't expect it to last for too long, but I'd be happy to just get 12 issues of Gillen/Coipel.

Get him to do some cosmic Marvel and I'm there(Gillen or Hickman)
    Inhumans for sure
Gillen has proved to marvel that if you can create a title that has a cult following that you can make that book last

Totally agree. marvel needs to look at diversifying beyond the Family titles they have. The reason i'm such a Marvel fan is becuase when I first started reading comics as a kid (in sunny Blighty) is because of it's international flavour and lesser characters. Unforunately the market doesn't appear to be able to handle those types of titles....apparently.

But 12 issues of Gillen/Copiel on Captain Britain and MI13.....? Yes! Yes please!

I'd like to see Gillen's take on Ghost Rider.......

I'm with you on that. Ghost Rider is one of those perennial B-List characters that I'm shocked ever goes out of print. I think it would've made a huge difference if GR had gotten a Big Shots push instead of a Fear Itself tie-in. The FI tie-in gave them the excuse to short change on the creative side.

Speaking of Journey into Mystery, i hope it gets an Ultimate Collection TPB like some other books have :)

Where will Gillen end up......i'm going to say......Fantastic Four?
Currently recommending: Daredevil, Mudman ( it's back!), Hawkguy, and FF. Can't miss!

I don't want his JIM run to end, it's sooo fun. But stick him on anything with a fantasy/sci-fi/horror vibe and we will be good. An Nightstalkers ongoing with Hellstrom, Blade, Sepulchre, Straw Man, N'Kantu, Gypsy Moth, Werewolf By Night, Shroud and Clea maybe?

I'd expect an Agent Brand cameo in short order.

I live in denial that Gillen will ever stop writing any book until long after the dreaded event actually occurs.

Still, it seems like JiM is wrapping up on his terms, which is the best way for a book to end an arc.

I think Gillen excels in books with deep mythology and a large background cast. That's not to say he shouldn't be on a solo book or one that he builds from the ground up (both would be cool). Also, he is great with younger characters. What does that add up to? I think he would be brilliant on FF. He could maybe be the person to bring life back to Runaways.

I just don't think he's high enough profile to successfully launch a new, unrecognizable book from scratch - after all, Gen Hope is still pretty fresh in all of our memories. As for the suggestions in the OP, I think Namor just blew his shot an ongoing at least for a few year, and Captain Britain is being rebuilt by Remender at the moment. I certainly wouldn't object to Inhumans, though!

Doctor Strange might suit him, as might The Eternals.

Son of Satan. It would probably last six issues, but I suspect it would be great.
