I'm actually excited that the early reviews are that high (and there are already PLENTY of reviews in)...this is probably the best reviewed Marvel Studios movie so far, and it's still too early to tell! Of course, the US release might change all that, but I hope by just a tiny amount.

What a bunch of interesting reviews. For those of you who saw it, where would you say that it ranks against Captain America?

It is better than the 5 movies in my opinion. It had fantastic dialogue, action, balance and characters.

It's easily the best Marvel movie. Just imagine all the best parts of the solo films, turn them up to 11, then seamlessly combine them together. And then you're only about half way there in terms of superhero insanity.

As for sci fi/adventure? I think it's better than all the Star Wars films apart from Empire Strikes Back.

of course the movie fails to deliver us man-candy. No shirtless thor, no shirtless Captain America, but we did get a couple of nice, firm, round shots of Black Widows ass-ets.

    DAT ASS!

But I think one of those shots was a purposeful dig at Michael Bay. It was so blatant it had to be.

You see that's my concern. The man-candy bit (disapointed already that Chris H. Doesn't disrobe) I'm just wondering if I have to be a 15 year old boy or turn my brain off to enjoy it. Is there some substance or is it just a giant UFC smack down?

Turn your brain off at your own risk. Youll miss the brilliant dialogue between characters.

That's it? A load of witty banter between costumed jocks? I'll make sure to see it a half price viewing.

I just watched the movie (in Germany). It was great!!! A lot of action and humour, the best marvel movie so far. The only unnecessary thing imo was Maria Hill. Cobie Smulders is cute, no doubt, but the character was bland and did nothing important. They could have used her screen time for more interaction between the Avengers.

So what do you want, clever dialog and action or just action or just witty dialog? You are confusing me. It's going to be the ultimate mix of story, action and character moments. Don't wait for a half price showing, go see it right away. I hope to.

    Pretty much this^^

You wanted more than just action which I said there was and you still complained. Seems like you just dont want to see the film. If thats the case fine but just dont see it and leave it at that.
