There's a great Popeye short from Fleisher created after they had stopped their Superman run but before they lost the licence. It's called She-Sick Sailors and has Bluto impersonating Superman to win Olive's affections. It's on youtube for anyone interested in checking it out.

The Fleischer and Ruby Spears Superman are my favorite animated Superman designs.

You know I went back and watched the first Superman cartoon a little while back, the Fleischer one. I was actually really amazed and impressed by how GOOD the animation actually was, even better than most cartoons for the past 40 years.
