Exactly this. It was a tear-jerker, and a disturbing one. It doesn't even seem like Wolverine could so coldly plan out and execute a close friend while he is begging for mercy. I mean Logan would do what had to be done, but he'd make it quick and merciful. He doesn't even make people he hates suffer. The bit where NC says he would've burned the world down to kill Bobby was pretty bad too.
I agree that the book was awesome though. To have people talking like this, it would have to be. I can't wait to see where this is going.
It looks like I'm going to have to. 'Fridging' is only when a female character is used specifically to be killed off and provide the male character with a reason for emotion and vengeance. If Dagger dies in the new Wolverine/Sabretooth story, for example, she was brought into that story specifically to die for the benefit of Wolverine and Cloak's narrative benefit. If Psylocke dies in Uncanny X-Force, on the other hand, she has been the focus of the story and series since near the beginning, and it would just be a character death, not a 'fridged' death.
Wow, that's pretty quick. She "mourns" her lost love Angel by saving Fantomex, mind controlling Brian to kill Jamie, and then proceed to have sex with Fantomex when they get back to the 616 Universe. And....this has now confirmed Betsy is the Marvel X-Man equivalent to a Praying Mantis. RUN FANTO, SHE'S GOING TO EAT YOU!!!!!

If Psylocke eats Fantomex next issue it will be the best comic book ever made.
I still don't understand what happened to Psylocke. How did she 'give her sorrow' to Skinless Man?
Man, I don't remember that at all. That entire Otherworld arc read like drugs.
It's amazing how Rick Remender is still able to tell so many amazing stories from the aftermath of the Dark Angel Saga. Otherworld was such an otherworldly arc that it was easy to forget that certain elements remain unresolved. The whole reason why AOA Nightcrawler stayed in 616 was so he could hunt down the other AOA elements that were trying to escape the dystopian carnage. I really like how the battle with him and AOA Iceman played out. In a sense I can't blame AOA Iceman for wanting to enjoy the fruits of the non-dystopian world of 616, but after what he did to Nightcrawler and his friends in AOA I can't say he didn't deserve what he got and Remender did a great job of showing how this played out.
As for Psylocke, I really never liked how Fantomex kept trying to seduce her. He has always come off as a massive tool and Psylocke sleeping with him only serves to encourage him. I know there had been some tension between them during the Dark Angel Saga, but based on how it played out the mere fact she slept with him in the end just doesn't seem to fit. It's understandable that she's messed up after what happened with Warren and Jamie. But I don't think any bit of messed up justifies sleeping with Fantomex.
Other than that, it was another great issue and one that offered a nice change-up from the events of AvX. Uncanny X-men is still a quality book unto itself and even though AvX will have most of my attention over the coming months, I'll always have a place for this series.

Not that it has shown.
In reading over Remender's Final Execution interview, I was trying (again) to pick some of it apart.
Remender: "That status quo change will come about because an X-Men villain, who has not yet appeared in "Uncanny X-Force," discovers the team's existence.
"This is a natural character to make this discovery and they do so because of another character we have seen in this book. "
Mystique maybe, since she is featured on the cover of issue #27? She is also with Creed right now, who heads up an Asian/Eastern assassin's organization.
Remender: "You don't put a character on your team unless you have a really strong arc in mind. So we'll get a real good look at where this Nightcrawler's story is headed soon and then it will take off around issue #27."
And finally:
Remender: "A ball-peen hammer is going to come down around issue #27 in a pretty huge and crazy way. If you've been a fan of the series so far you're not going to want to miss this," Remender said. "This was something that I didn't think would get approved, to be honest. "
You know, it may not be a death he had to get approval for -- we've all been assuming that. We know someone will die, as Remender has stated it, but it may not be as much of a major team member as we think. What he may have needed to get approval for is turning someone into a villain. Surely that would need as much approval as character death, and I can envision Wolverine having a really hard time if either Bets or Kurt goes rogue and he has to fight them. (I'm putting my money on it being Betsy, given her recent character development, if that happens.) Then again, if Psylocke is featured in upcoming X-Men stories, it may not be.

That was an incredible issue. Just brutual.
If Psylocke eats Fantomex, she'd better turn him into a curry first or Seresecros will have a fit.
