Justice League # 8 spoilers / discussion

Martian Manhunter really was a member of the team. They parted ways in bad terms. There's a nice Reis splash page of his fight against the entire team. A crossover with Stormwatch is inevitable (which would be awesome).Green Arrow was hilarious. Looks like Superman and Flash want him in the team.

Does it directly contradict what the Manhunter said in Stormwatch? He was talking about how he could never join the League because he had to keep secrets from them, or something. And thanks for taking one for the team and reading this thing. Good show!

EDIT: Now that I think about it, I believe Apollo may have recognized MM as a member of the League way back in issue one. Disregard what I asked.

I haven't read the JL issue, but I don't think it would contradict it. Considering he joined Stormwatch AFTER JL, he probably meant that he NOW can't join the JL.

haven't picked up the issue yet, but in Strom Watch Martian Manhunter blatantly says he was never a member of the Justice League, and StormWatch has been around longer than the Justice League

Well, MM could have been lying and we don't know when he joined Stormwatch.

well I haven't picked up this issue yet so will see. Overall is JL#8 a good issue?

Well, MM could have been lying and we don't know when he joined Stormwatch.

Keep in mind i haven't gotten my comics yet today, so haven't seen this, but.... This whole thing is striking me as them changing streams midway through the story, or a communication breakdown between editors/writers, and we're just going to have to roll with things even if there are some contraditcions. when Apollo first recognizes him 'from the Justice League' that seems to fit this, but then MM says something about 'Justice League' being slang for superheroes in general, and that he had never been a part of the actual team. At the time, it smacked of them backpedalling over what was originally said, and this is coming across like a backpedal over the backpedal. Basically, I don't think his involvement with the Justice League was very well planned early on, and we just have to not worry too much about what was said specifically. :p

Right, this was the page I was thinking of! I got myself all turned around on MM canon. I... I don't know what to believe! *will go with Stormwatch canon, being infinitely more entertaining*
