That's the thing. Scott's actions have nothing to do with segregation from humans, no more then one could say the school is. In fact, if you consider their actions, Scott's side is doing more for human/mutant relations then Logan's side is. Scott not only frequency works with and for humans, but he has some living on Utopia.
Anyway, it's Beast's attitude towards anything Scott that's the problem. It doesn't matter if he disagrees with him, but that's still no reason not to at least try to be civil. There are plenty of others who have disagreed with Scott's actions, but none of them simply left to develop a vendetta against him. Not only was Logan in on what Scott was doing, but he then went and repeated it, yet Beast had no problems with staying civil with him. It seems hypocritical.
I've been noting Beasts behavior since Hank walked out after Secret Invasion, when Scott asked Henry to make the Legion Virus to kill Aliens. I think it was the betrayal that Hank felt over Scott ordering to revisit the Virus, when they agreed it was never to be used again. Nobody else got that betrayal but Henry from Scott, and that's why I think Henry has a vendetta solely with Scott.
This issue was great. I LOL'ed a few times at the script. I feel like this book should come out more :P /greeedy

Perhaps it's because he's disappointed in him, after all they were very good friends. Scott and Logan have never liked each other, but Scott and Hank were best pals. And Scott was always a boy scout, Logan has been a trained assassin - in short you'd expect it from Logan but not Scott. Not saying it's a good point of view but this is what Hank might be thinking.
Yeah, I noticed that and partially agree with you. Beast is portrayed as sentimental these days. But I still don't think he is such a pessimist. As revealed in the latest preview of secret avengers, Beast still has faith in the phoenix that she can control herself. It's obvious he is not fully agreed with Cap's action. But after all, that's Captain America. Since Captain give the order, Beast must implement it as an avenger. So I think the reason behind his reaction might be he doesn't want to stop the phoenix. He knows it's coming for good. Phoenix can control herself. (though I doubt if Hope can do it.) I guess Beast might be side back with the X-men in the following issues.
I don't know.. Beast is a reasonable man, so yes, if he thinks the best for the mutant race is the Phoenix, he might side with the Utopia-based X-Men. Not likely, since he is the original X-man turned Avenger, but yeah, he might join the battle. I know he's one of the Avengers battling Namor/the unidentified figure in that Kubert spread from round 8 posted a while back, so at least I know he'll survive and that's good!![]()
Yes, survive! really good! Still, I'm worried about the aftermath. How will he face to the other mutants and x-men then if he is side with the avengers through the whole event? Will the mutant society accept him again? Frankly, I prefer Beast as a X-men rather than as an avenger.
