This is from the Dynamite president himself, it's the last comment on this thread. It looks as if some creators were sick and others couldn't handle the work load of writing/drawing the books, but the company is definately doing a "rebirth" sometime next year. It may not be so bad if you think about it, I mean, we still have a couple more books per title so lets say we get the last books sometime in July than we only have a few months to wait until 2013, but it all depends on when they relaunch in 2013 as to how bad the wait will be.

Well it is nice to see a response from Nick, but I still have to have my doubts as all of his statements are just hopeful promises at this point. But if the hiatus does result in new, on-schedule books of similar or better quality, than so be it. I will admit the delays right now are very frustrating. Perhaps they will add something to the end of Genesis that will explain the hiatus. And at least story-wise all the solo books take place before Genesis, so a Re-Birth of the titles that takes place after would work.

This will be it for me. I will give Dynamite this ONE last chance to make good on their promises to get things back up and running and if they come through with their promise than I will support it all the way through, if they screw it up I may just abandon the company as a whole and go back to DC Comics since they can at least get their stuff out on time. By "2013" I'm hoping that it goes down within the first half of the year and not toward the end of the year, that wouldn't be fair and it would be a typical cop-out to say that they'll be back in 2013 only to end up releasing the first new issue in like November/December......

I was at the panel. If I recall correctly (I was reading a copy of Voltron: Year One #1 they had given me), Barrucci said with the Kirby stuff being put on hold, they were replacing that in their line with more Superpowers stuff.

That's actually not what was said. Was was said is in the link that the original poster provided us as well as in a post he placed on the official forums. Click them to check them out.

Well, if you abandon Dynamite, come on board the new Valiant Universe with me! Only four books, with an integrated universe, and more well established creative teams less likely to flake-out. Not as much cosmic stuff, but XO Manowar might meet your appetite.

Oh I plan on checking out the Valiant books, I've been hoping they'd be good and they look pretty good so far so I'll check them out whether I leave Dynamite or stick with them. I read other books from Dynamite so It's not like I won't be buying anything from them at all, but a part of me will want to in protest to how they've handled Project Superpowers and Genesis, it'll be hard though.

I'm actually working on a new Dynamite related blog for my site at the moment, it's a positive look at the company, but should they fail at Genesis than I can't promise my next Dynamite blog will be so forgiving.

Overall, Dynamite has done an excellent job with their licenced properties, and even have had a few nice creator owned books like The Boys and Jennifer Blood. But they have definitely fallen short in their handling of those two universes.

I just finished a new blog about Dynamite over at The Thought Corner (my personal blog), it was fun to write :)

But yeah, I will continue to support Dynamite regardless, but dammit I just wish they would just continue on with Genesis instead of relaunching it next year and I wish we had already received Project Superpowers Chapter 3 by now.....

I can't say I am surprised but I am a bit disappointed. I bet they less than stellar first issue review didn't help. Now days everyone is so impatient that they demand all action right away, instead of a slow build up. I hope Busiek isn't still sick, not that I wish sickness on anyone. I wonder if they will put these out in trades?

It almost seems like Genesis is taking a back seat for a possible return of project superpowers or something, I don't get why they couldn't do both at the same time and why both series need to rest for such a long time. It bothers me and shows that dynamite is more dedicated to pulp and female heroes like Vamprella and Sonja than anything else. I know they sell well but Project Superpowers and Genesis sold well too, themain books at least.
