Issue 3 was terrific, things are all fitting together. I wasn't expecting FDR to be handled quite like that but I am loving his new deal, such delightful depravity. Really looking forward to an Einstein-centric issue 4 and finding out what's up with that Monolith. Oh, and the character roll call page was priceless!

I watched a documentary on Oppenheimer last year and the reinacted scenes were played by David Strathairn. He was excellent so would definitely get my vote for the part. He was awesome as Murrow in Good Night, and Good Luck. He'll just need to add a bit of super-messed-up-crazy to the role in this series.

Issue 3 might even be better than issue 1.

And God I pray there's never a TV show of this.

For a split second I thought that said Jason Statham and my mind just went into a loop.

After imdb'ing it, it seems that Strathairn played Oppenheimer back in the 1989 TV movie Day One as well...with Brian Dennehey as Groves! I will have to track that one down.

I wasn't a fan of issue #2 but #3 really swayed me back. Great story developing.

I had been seeing some buzz around this title so had my LCS snag the first three issues for me. Got them yesterday in my pull and read them all last night. I'm totally digging the story and art. It's fun to have a comic that makes you check out some reference docs every once in a while.

Speaking of which, has anyone read the wiki article on Daghlian? That accident was some crazy shizz. It's like Dr Manhattan and Spock's death and a scary bomb diffusal all rolled into one. Imagining the terror of that event in real life (and the horrible next month the dude must have had before he finally died) was pretty wild.

Really glad I picked this up!

I almost dropped this book but since it is on my pull at the LCS I went ahead and took it. 3 was way better story wise than the first two issues combined, but I'm enamored with the art. The guy conveys body language and expressions really well but it's not really the comic book style of art that I'm used to seeing.

This was another great issue! The whole Harry Truman bit was hilarious. Waiting to see where the series goes from here since everything so far feels like a set-up of the cast. Regardless, this is the comic I look forward to the most.
    Gimme gimme shock treatment.

I'm still a big fan of Hickman and his teams' use of empty space on the page and simple sentences of narration. Nick - the page with FDR was great and what a unique use of the guy in this story!

bakkabennu- Thanks! It's cool that you noticed that....I really like the way that beat hit, it was probably the strongest synced up storytelling Jon and Jordie and Russ and I have done together. "Everything Ends"...I really dug how that line hit.

antsomarching- Thanks! By issue 5 the tone of the series is set...spoiler....its super fucking crazy.

Secret Agent- Thanks! I've been working on my character expression!

ugdave- Thanks man! Yeah that whole accident was crazy...it almost makes me feel bad we're using him as a radiated skull...almost :)

nosocialize100-Glad to get you back on board...issue 3 is my fav so far too.
