The point of Free Comic Book Day is to get people into the stores. If you can get it digitally, you're defeating the purpose of the entire event.

Besides, it'll probably be available digitally someday...just not the day of the event designed to put people in a physical location.

Well, not everyone lives in America or even near such stores, so digital is some people's only option. (not to mention they are already missing out on stuff like Demon Knights, Swamp Thing and Animal Man...which cant be subscribed to...)
