Man, I really hope Loeb will reveal that Romulus was lying about being descended from an ancient race of Lupine sapiens and that instead he was just screwing with Logan's head and is a relatively new player (as opposed to an ancient being). I much preferred when Apocalypse was supposedly the man pulling the strings behind Weapon X, as it fits more with his 'survival of the fittest' mutant supremacy mantra. So I'm hoping we find out that Romulus is a liar and most of Evolution was just smoke and mirrors... *fingerscrossed*
I bet Leob wont even take into acount the part about wolverine slicing Sabretooth's Soul in to pecies down in hell, just like he isnt doing so with the Brilliant update cloak and dagger got in there spider-island mini series
Yeah, but that could be pretty easily explained as a "personal hell" and not the literal Hell. Meaning that it was just a hell-ish dimension ruled by a demon, and that many of the folks that Wolverine encountered there were just dredged up from his psyche and their souls not actually there. Something like that. Honestly what bothers me more is the whole implication from Evolution that Logan is descended from prehistoric wolves. Just seems stupid and unnecessary to convolute his origin that way.
BRING ON THAT BIANCHI ART!
and this time i looks like he wont be making sabretooth too overly big compared to wolverine like he did in evolution![]()
Agreed on all counts. And I also like Bianchi's art a lot. Hopefully Loeb undoes some of the damage he did with Evolution as opposed to making it worse. I have to say that I rather enjoyed X-Sanction (for what it was; a light, fun romp with Cable kicking Avenger ass), so that gives me hope that perhaps he'll bring his A-game and deliver a decent conclusion to this whole Romulus / Lupine story as well as a satisfactory explanation for how Sabretooth is back.
From that second cover it looks like he might go the clone route and say that the Sabretooth that Wolverine beheaded was actually a defective clone or something. That would work I suppose. Maybe Romulus just wanted to see if Wolverine would go through with it.
I think it would be badass if the end of this story sees Creed getting his revenge on Romulus for playing him, and re-establishes Sabes as Wolverine's #1 villain. In a very brutal fashion...![]()
I really like this idea. Good suggestion!
In terms of the lupine thing, I wouldn't mind if Romulus was the last of the lupines who, as was shown in Origins, was trying to find a worthy successor, but trying to shoehorn Wolverine and Sabretooth (not to mention Daken) into descendants of mutant cats is just ridiculous.
Still, seeing as I love Sabretooth, and Loeb wrote the characters really well (his plot wasn't so great), I'm definitely looking forward to this. I also LOVE Bianchi on stuff like this: he's ok elsewhere, but his style seems like it really fits with a Wolverine/Sabretooth slashfest.

thats likley, no reason for sabretooth to have messed with cloak/dagger if it had nothin to do with romulus ether releasing him or trying to kill him.
same with the defective clone idea
this page shows us that whatever wolvy killed is dead and stayed dead, and id prefer what he killed to have been a clone rather than the sabretooth that just came back be a clone of the real one that was killed
